Headless Development: Lead the frontend development of our Shopify app, including

building new features, revamping existing functionalities, and optimising performance.

User Interface Design: Collaborate with the design team to implement responsive,

pixel-perfect UI components that align with our brand’s aesthetic and provide an intuitive

user experience.

Custom Theme Development: Create and customise Shopify themes to enhance the

visual appeal and functionality of our online store, ensuring compatibility with various

devices and browsers.

Integration and API Management: Work with third-party APIs and Shopify's API to integrate

necessary functionalities, such as payment gateways, shipping solutions, and marketing

tools.

Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and improve the app’s performance,

ensuring fast load times, seamless navigation, and a smooth user experience.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including backend developers,

designers, marketers, and product managers, to deliver high-quality solutions on time.

Code Review and Best Practices: Maintain clean, modular, and reusable code. Participate

in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices in frontend development.

Troubleshooting and Debugging: Identify and resolve issues, bugs, and performance

bottlenecks in a timely manner to ensure a seamless user experience.

Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for code, processes,

and development workflows.

💥 What will you do?

As a Lead Frontend Engineer, you will

• Own our frontend engineering applications for two products each of which run as independent applications which query our backend systems via REST APIs

• Act as a leader and coach within the front-end engineering team, collaborating with and mentoring senior engineers.

• Collaborate on a daily basis with a small, nimble team of product managers, engineers, and UX designers to understand business requirements and user experience goals and pain points.
• Write and review modular, reusable components and features (React.js / Vue.js) and integrate backend APIs to create a seamless front-end user experience
• Integrate third-party plugins to enhance customer experience. These include 3rd party plugins which provide customer support and analytics plugins that help improve the user experience we provide to customers.
• Actively participate in code reviews
• Work with our quality assurance team to improve coverage on our automated testing suites

While we do not have a strict list of requirements for candidates interested in this role, some indicators that you would fit this role and our engineering culture are 

• Prior experience of a few years (3+ years) with frontend frameworks as React.js or Vue.js would be essential to work on our application stack.

• You actively promote a culture of engineering excellence some of which could be writing efficient code, use of elegant design patterns, and styling your code through code-linting policies.

• You enjoy designing software architecture by collaborating with leads to explore existing systems, determining areas of complexity, potential risks to successful implementation.

• We will be flexible for the rest of the pandemic and work remotely; however, we are not a remote-first company, and the work location would be Bangalore when things settle.

Must have skills:

1. 8+ years of experience in UI development.
2. Should have managed a team of 3-4 members
3. Proficiency in front-end web development tools, i.e., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX.
4. Experience in modern frameworks like Angular, React JS, Bootstrap, Node.js, etc.
5. Should have an eye for clean and artful design, possess superior UI skills and be able to translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and artifacts, and transform them into beautiful, intuitive, and functional user interfaces.
6. Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying high-volume, multi-tiered, distributed mission-critical applications.
7. Good understanding of creational and structural design patterns in JavaScript.

Nice to have skills:

1. Experience using Git version control software
2. Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
3. Create & Own design and development artifacts as per best SDLC practices.
4. Good understanding of Relational database experience and demonstrated abilities in SQL and data modelling is required.
5. Use Adobe Creative Suite programs, e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator to mockup UI elements. 6. Use visual aids such as wireframes, storyboards and UI flow charts, to plan and present user interface designs.

What you will do:

1. Create cross-browser, fully functional web pages using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, while strictly adhering to accessibility and W3C web standards.
2. Collaborate with developers, product managers, designers, web publishers, producers and back-end engineers to support revenue operations and meet project deadlines.
3. Review new code (self and peer) following W3C web standards and strict QA guidelines.
4. Evaluate technical feasibility and offer suggestions & guidance for product development. Build proof-of-concept prototypes for new projects.
5. Create scoping timelines and development project plans for new projects.
6. Participate in interviewing, hiring, on-boarding, and training new employees.
7. Mentor development team members with less experience.
8. Recognize tool/system deficiencies and work with leadership to implement effective solutions.
9. Assist leadership in setting, documenting and communicating technical standards and processes to ensure they are followed.

Required experience:
