About AM:PM

AM:PM is a news platform built for short-form video reels for Gen Z and millennials who want to stay informed without sitting through a panel of five people agreeing with each other for 40 minutes. We go deep without going slow. We understand internet culture because we live in it, not because we read a report about it.

Why this role matters

The internet produces thousands of stories every hour. The challenge isn't finding content, it's finding the right content. This role exists to identify newsworthy videos, trending conversations, and cultural moments, verify what matters, and package them into content people actually want to click, watch, and share.

What you will own

1. Scout newsworthy videos, creator content, and trending conversations across multiple platforms.
2. Identify stories and moments worth publishing on AM:PM.
3. Research and fact-check information before it reaches our audience.
4. Write compelling headlines, video titles, push notifications, captions, and social copy.
5. Work closely with the editorial and video teams to package stories for maximum reach and engagement.
6. Stay on top of politics, business, technology, entertainment, sports, and internet culture to ensure AM:PM is always ahead of the conversation.
7. Move fast without compromising accuracy, credibility, or editorial standards.

Who you are

• 0-2 years of experience through internships, freelance work, journalism, digital media, content or editorial roles.
• You instinctively know where trends and stories break first.
• You can write headlines and notifications that make people stop scrolling.
• You have strong news judgment and understand the importance of fact-checking.
• You are internet-native, curious, resourceful, and obsessed with what's happening online.
• Based in Mumbai or willing to relocate within commutable distance.

This is a 0-to-1 journey. You will help define how AM:PM discovers, packages, and delivers stories for the next generation of news consumers. Bring your writing, projects, or anything that proves you know how to spot a story before everyone else does.

Role overview

• Overall 5 to 7 years of experience. Node.js experience is must.
• At least 3+ years of experience or couple of large-scale products delivered on microservices.
• Strong design skills on microservices and AWS platform infrastructure.
• Excellent programming skill in Python, Node.js and Java.
• Hands on development in rest API’s.
• Good understanding of nuances of distributed systems, scalability, and availability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with business stakeholders and data analysts to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective Power BI solutions.
2. Design and develop interactive and visually compelling dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Microsoft Power BI.
3. Ensure data accuracy and consistency in the reports by working closely with data engineers and data architects.
4. Optimize and streamline existing Power BI reports and dashboards for better performance and user experience.
5. Develop and maintain data models and data connections to various data sources, ensuring seamless data integration.
6. Implement security measures and data access controls to protect sensitive information in Power BI reports.
7. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Power BI reports, data refresh, and connectivity problems.
8. Stay updated with the latest Power BI features and capabilities, and evaluate their potential use in improving existing solutions.
9. Conduct training sessions and workshops for end-users to promote self-service BI capabilities and enable them to create their own reports.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as a Power BI Developer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous Power BI projects.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Power BI, DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), and M (Power Query) to manipulate and analyze data effectively.
4. Solid understanding of data visualization best practices and design principles to create engaging and intuitive dashboards.
5. Strong SQL skills and experience with data modeling and database design concepts.
6. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
7. Ability to work with various data sources, including relational databases, APIs, and cloud-based platforms.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues in Power BI reports.

As DevOps Engineer, you'll be part of the team building the stage for our Software Engineers to work on, helping to enhance our product performance and reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Build & operate infrastructure to support website, backed cluster, ML projects in the organization.
• Helping teams become more autonomous and allowing the Operation team to focus on improving the infrastructure and optimizing processes.
• Delivering system management tooling to the engineering teams.
