Job Description – Android AOSP Developer

Job Title: (Senior) Software Developer

Location: Remote

Job Summary:

TechGrit India is seeking a highly skilled Android AOSP Developer with 5-8 years of experience to join our team. This is an immediate requirement. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software products that meet the needs of our customers. This role will work closely with other members of the development team to ensure that software solutions are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop software applications using C++ and other programming languages as needed
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that meets the requirements of our customers
• Design, develop, and maintain software systems, components, and libraries
• Collaborate with other members of the development team to ensure that software solutions are delivered on time and within budget
• Participate in the testing and debugging of software applications, and provide support to the quality assurance team as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in software development using C++ in a Linux/Ubuntu environment
• Experience working with Android AOSP code base.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts and design patterns
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and solve complex technical problems
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred, but not mandatory).

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• Highly experienced in Embedded C, C++ coding as per MISRA standards
• Experience in firmware programming for 8 bit, 16 bit and 32 bit controllers.
• Knowledgeable in Linker Scripts, Make files & firmware debugging using JTAG or on the UART console. 
• Experienced in Communication peripherals like SPI, UART, I2C, CAN, etc.

• Ideation, designing, prototyping, and developing as per product requirements.

• Expertise in system architecture and design for Embedded software systems.
• Develop modular Embedded Code to port into different projects.
• Experience on Real Time Systems and Scheduling mechanisms
• Development experience in "middleware" / “application” / Low layer.
• Experience with developing embedded code for networking technologies like TCP/IP and UDP would be a plus.
• Document state machine diagrams, flow charts to understand the system architecture
• Working closely with Design teams to understand Hardware Implementation.
• Develop Test methods, in some cases automated test cases to test the firmware code and support hardware engineers.
• Use Debuggers, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and other necessary electrical tools to debug the code for problem-solving.
• Excellent reading skills for complete understanding of technical documents such as Processor Architecture Specifications and MCU hardware manuals, schematics etc.
• Ability to generate ideas in response to complex issues and execute on solutions.
• Python programming is a big plus.

We need you, if you are a senior iOS developer with 4+ years of experience in building robust iOS apps. Work would involve building things quickly and adapting based on market feedback while ensuring the security and quality of the codebase. What you will need (Skills)

• Proficient with Swift and Cocoa Touch.
• Experience with iOS frameworks such as Core Data, Core Animation, etc.
• Familiarity with Restful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services.
• Understanding of Apple's design principles and interface guidelines
• Experience with performance and memory tuning with tools (such as Instruments and Shark, depending on project needs).
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.
• Familiarity with continuous integration.
• Universal application development for both iPhone and iPad.
• Be able to build mobile applications to connect to middleware and applications through web services.
• Have excellent knowledge about the performance optimization of mobile applications.
• Experience with microservice architectures for clean mobile architecture design patterns and best practices.
• Familiarity with unit testing using mocking frameworks Cloud and Cloud infrastructure for backend hosting.

8+ years of experience  Excellent skills in C/C++/Java programming in embedded domain 

Strong experience  in the area of Automotive, Android Embedded development and Connectivity Technologies
Strong experience on Android architecture, HAL, BSP, customize driver in Android HAL, Android boot up sequence
Familiar with Android Build System and procedure and able to provide ideas to improve continuous build and integration

Experience in Hardware peripherals like Ethernet, CAN, DMA, I2C, SPI, UART, Hardware Accelerator, AFE , LCD, backlight, touchcontroller

Experience with design/ modification to Hardware Abstraction Libraries (HAL) for Android support of low-level device features.
Experience in debugging on a wide range of Linux Kernel drivers and Android framework HALs e.g. Audio/Video, USB, Bluetooth, WiFi

  Fluent in industry standard software development tools: HSW/HE debuggers, code revision control systems (GIT, Perforce), IDEs and build tools
Exposure/experience in Automotive Embedded Software Development is a plus

JOB ROLE: EMBEDDED SYSTEMS ENGINEER

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with multi-disciplinary engineering team and customer to identify and recommend hardware needs and requirements for project/product.
• Modify or assist in the development of software architecture and design for new products, prototype, or re-design, including sourcing build environments and writing technical support and control documentation.   
• Read Block Diagrams and detail circuit schematics and layout of proposed or existing hardware and assess the software and driver requirements.
• Participates in cross-divisional Edge IoT projects and/or proposals.
• Develop, oversee, and document automated tests for electrical hardware design and products as well as final operating drivers and systems.
• Evaluate and investigate product failures, and recommend repair or design modifications based on specifications, cost, resources, and risks.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to creatively approach challenges and cleverly solve difficult problems.
• Ability to independently identify daily design and customer support tasks, self-start and motivate.
• Ability to manage several projects and prioritize appropriately, with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment as well as independently.
• Ability to learn and work in virtual environments (CAD & Hardware build packages) in-which candidate’s skills are low but persevere and overcome skill gaps autonomously.
• Some experience programming with embedded systems designs and multithreaded real-time operating systems is required.
• Solid programming experience. Preferably in C or C++, .NET, and Java programming languages.
