We are looking for a dynamic and motivated

Associate Engineering Manager

to join our

team. This role requires a blend of technical proficiency, leadership abilities and strategic

project execution skills to ensure successful delivery of high-impact projects. You will work

closely with engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions, drive innovation and

contribute to the growth and success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Software Development & Engineering Leadership:



Lead and support a team of engineers to achieve project goals and career growth.



Ensure best practices in software development, including code quality, security and

performance optimization.



Participate in architectural discussions and technical problem-solving.



Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and delivery timelines.



Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and improve future processes.



Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and accountability within the engineering

team.



Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive technical

excellence.

Project Planning and Execution:



Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria.



Create detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk

assessments.



Monitor project progress, remove blockers and ensure timely delivery.



Effectively manage scope creep and ensure projects stay on schedule.



Maintain up-to-date project documentation and dashboards.

Stakeholder & Team Management:



Collaborate with product managers, designers and other stakeholders to define and

execute technical roadmaps.



Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior management and external

partners.



Facilitate regular status updates, reviews and team meetings.



Address stakeholder concerns and incorporate feedback into project processes.

Risk & Budget Management:



Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.



Monitor risks throughout the project lifecycle and update contingency plans as required.

Qualifications & Skills:



Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.



Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years of hand-

on coding experience and 1-2 years in a leadership role.



Excellent leadership and team management skills.



Good problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.



Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and best practices.



Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.



Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.



Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

Nice to Have:



Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and modern development frameworks

is a plus.



Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker.

Experience

What You’ll do as a Senior Software Craftsperson:

• Your typical day will include attending Agile standups, designing components or services, writing lots of code, testing and integrating your code, and reviewing others’ code.
• You’ll participate in and contribute to Agile team activities. You’ll help estimate the amount of time and effort projects will take as part of the sprint cycle.
• You’ll ensure software engineering best practices, coding standards and patterns for development and deployment.
• You’ll investigate alerts about possible errors in the system. You’ll help solve outages, participate in retrospectives, and implement countermeasures to prevent similar issues from recurring.
• You’ll create tools and documentation for internal teams like Client Delivery to understand how the systems work and to enable them to onboard customers in a timely manner with minimal support from Engineering.

What You’ll Bring:

• Proficiency with some or all of the following: JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node, Storybook, Python, Flask, end to end and unit testing frameworks.
• 3+ years of Object-Oriented Programming with Python or equivalent (required)
• 3+ years of experience working with relational (SQL) databases (required)
• 3+ years of experience using Git to contribute code as part of a team of Software Craftsperson.

You’ll use your experience in/familiarity with technologies relevant to:

• Build, scale, and deliver dynamic and highly available enterprise solutions.
• Help the Agile team execute sprint deliverables.
• Provide an educated estimate of effort for the sprint cycle.
• Think creatively about how to use technology and tools to solve problems faced by our users and customers.

You’ll use your critical thinking skills to:

• Escalate issues to your Agile team in a timely manner.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field

• Experience in designing and maintaining high volume and scalable micro-services architecture on cloud infrastructure

• Knowledge in Linux/Unix Administration and Python/Shell Scripting

• Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS (EC2, ELB, S3, Auto-scaling, VPC, Lambda), GCP, Azure

• Knowledge in deployment automation, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (Jenkins, Maven, Puppet, Chef, GitLab) and monitoring tools like Zabbix, Cloud Watch Monitoring, Nagios Knowledge of Java Virtual Machines, Apache Tomcat, Nginx, Apache Kafka, Microservices architecture, Caching mechanisms

• Experience in enterprise application development, maintenance and operations

• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, judgment and decision-making skills
