ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Full Stack Developer at GoQuest Media, you will play a key role in building and maintaining

web applications that deliver seamless user experiences for our global clients. From

brainstorming features with the team to executing back-end logic, you will be involved in every

aspect of our application development process.

You will be working with modern technologies like NodeJS, ReactJS, NextJS, and Tailwind CSS

to create performant, scalable applications. Your role will span both front-end and back-end

development as you build efficient and dynamic solutions to meet the company’s and users’

needs.

What will you be accountable for?

● End-to-End Development:

● Design and develop highly scalable and interactive web applications from scratch.

● Take ownership of both front-end (ReactJS, NextJS, Tailwind CSS) and back-end

(NodeJS) development processes.

● Feature Implementation:

● Work closely with designers and product managers to translate ideas into highly

interactive and responsive interfaces.

● Maintenance and Debugging:

● Ensure applications are optimized for performance, scalability, and reliability.

● Perform regular maintenance, debugging, and testing of existing apps to ensure

they remain in top shape.

● Collaboration:

● Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers,

and stakeholders, to deliver seamless and robust applications.

● Innovation:

● Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies to suggest and implement

improvements in the development process.

Essential Qualification:

(i) Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/ MVSc or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent

OR

Desirable Qualification: Full stack developer with demonstrable experience in working with different operating systems, Programming Languages (Shell Scripts, Python, C, MySQL, MariaDB, SQLite, HTML, PHP), Database Server (MySQL, OpenLDAP), Apache and NGINX Web Server, hands-on experience with application performance indicators like red metrics etc and Unity3D. Experience in React Native, online mentoring and content creation. Machine learning and evolutionary biology knowledge will be an added advantage. Previous experience in game development is highly desirable.

As a Full Stack Developer, you'll be instrumental in shaping the future of AI assistants for data teams and understanding the intricacies of Large Language Models (LLMs) to optimise their usage across multiple use cases. Utilising Django, you'll architect backend infrastructures optimised for handling data processes and LLM interactions. Your role involves building APIs with the Django Rest Framework. Lantern Pharma is looking for talented and highly motivated R Shiny based front end web application developers to visualize the data analyzed / reports generated using bioinformatics pipelines. Leveraging your background and applying software engineering principles, to develop applications and tools in support of data visualization and reporting using R / R Shiny. You will be involved in generating complex graphs used for statistical analysis and interpretation using interactive libraries such as Plotly. In addition to development of new code, you will support and maintain standard R programs, which will comprise a library of code to be used for future development. This is a 6 months contract position (40 hrs / week) with possibilities of full time employment based on performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and develop interactive web applications using R / R Shiny to visualize ML outputs, multi-omics data and reports generated by bioinformatics pipelines
• Use the open-source or proprietary R libraries to build useful applications and packages
• Write efficient, clean and well tested code that adheres to best practices
• Organize data, analysis, reports, and applications into reproducible pipelines
• Test and debug applications to ensure they are working correctly, using both manual and automated testing techniques
• Stay up-to-date with the latest R packages and developments in the pharma industry
• Publish R packages to internal company repository
• Deploy and maintain the R Shiny web-application on the AWS server

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree required (Master’s degree preferred) in a scientific discipline such as Statistics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics etc.
• Minimum 2 years of R / R Shiny, R Markdown experience with standard packages for data visualization and analysis
• Proven ability of building interactive R-shiny application (demo of the R-shiny application)
• Proficient in libraries such as ggplot2, plotly, dplyr, Highcharter and DT
• Must have experience in generating and working with R markdown reports
• Experience of AWS to host R shiny application is a plus
• Knowledge of cancer biology, genomics and drug development is a plus
• Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python a plus
• Experience in building a database using Relational / Non relational Database (SQL / NoSQL)
• Must be capable of developing collaborative relationships with colleagues

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Debugging: Bugs are relatively common in the development process, you will be responsible for setting up a system for developers to ensure that there are no bugs, and testing the code for bugs marks up as an essential skill.
  
  
• Building and Automation Tools:
 Web performance refers to the amount of time a web app takes to load. If performance time seems to be an issue, it is better to scale the images and omit irrelevant characters. Currently, carrying out this process can be time-consuming, you will be responsible for building and automation tools to come to the team's rescue.

• Database/Web Storage: Need to be an expert in relational databases, NoSQL databases, and memory storage with abilities to design and manipulate complex database queries.
