DevOps Engineer

NOTE- This is a contractual role for a period of 3-6 months.

Responsibilities:

● Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines across services and environments

● Monitor system health and set up alerts/logs for performance & errors ● Work closely with backend/frontend teams to improve deployment velocity

● Manage cloud environments (staging, production) with cost and reliability in mind

● Ensure secure access, role policies, and audit logging

● Contribute to internal tooling, CLI automation, and dev workflow improvements

Must-Haves:

● 2–3 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering

● Experience with Docker, CI/CD (especially GitHub Actions), and cloud providers (AWS/GCP)

● Proficiency in writing scripts (Bash, Python) for automation

● Good understanding of system monitoring, logs, and alerting

● Strong debugging skills, ownership mindset, and clear documentation habits

● Infra monitoring tools like Grafana dashboards

Task:

• Need to run our software products in different international environments (on premise and cloud providers)
• Support the developers while debugging issues
• Analyse and monitor software during runtime to find bugs, performance issues and plan growth of the system
• Integrate new technologies to support our products while growing in the market
• Develop Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment Pipelines
• Maintain our on premise hosted servers and applications, like operating system upgrades, software upgrades, introducing new database versions etc.
• Automation of task to reduce amount of human errors and parallelize work

Your Roles and Responsibilities

The Lead DevOps Engineer will be responsible for the management, monitoring and operation of our applications and services in production. The DevOps Engineer will be a hands-on person who can work independently or with minimal guidance and has the ability to drive the team’s deliverables by mentoring and guiding junior team members. You will work with the existing teams very closely and build on top of tools like Kubernetes, Docker and Terraform and support our numerous polyglot services.

Introducing a strong DevOps ethic into the rest of the team is crucial, and we expect you to lead the team on best practices in deployment, monitoring, and tooling. You'll work collaboratively with software engineering to deploy and operate our systems, help automate and streamline our operations and processes, build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations and troubleshoot and resolve issues in our development, test and production environments. The position is based in our Bangalore office.

Primary Responsibilities

• Providing strategies and creating pathways in support of product initiatives in DevOps and automation, with a focus on the design of systems and services that run on cloud platforms.
• Optimizations and execution of the CI/CD pipelines of multiple products and timely promotion of the releases to production environments
• Ensuring that mission critical applications are deployed and optimised for high availability, security & privacy compliance and disaster recovery.
• Strategize, implement and verify secure coding techniques, integrate code security tools for Continuous Integration
• Ensure analysis, efficiency, responsiveness, scalability and cross-platform compatibility of applications through captured  metrics, testing frameworks, and debugging methodologies.
• Technical documentation through all stages of development
• Establish strong relationships, and proactively communicate, with team members as well as individuals across the organisation

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of experience on Devops tools.
• Working experience with Linux, container orchestration and management technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, ECS …).
• Hands-on experience with "infrastructure as code" solutions (Cloudformation, Terraform, Ansible etc).
• Background of building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab-CI, Jenkins, CircleCI, Github actions etc).
• Experience with the Hashicorp stack (Vault, Packer, Nomad etc).
• Hands-on experience in building and maintaining monitoring/logging/alerting stacks (ELK stack, Prometheus stack, Grafana etc).
• Devops mindset and experience with Agile / SCRUM Methodology
• Basic knowledge of Storage , Databases (SQL and noSQL)
• Good understanding of networking technologies, HAProxy, firewalling and security.
• Experience in Security vulnerability scans and remediation
• Experience in API security and credentials management
• Worked on Microservice configurations across dev/test/prod environments
• Ability to quickly adapt new languages and technologies

• Work towards improving the following 4 verticals - scalability, availability, security, and cost, for company's workflows and products.
• Help in provisioning, managing, optimizing cloud infrastructure in AWS (IAM, EC2, RDS, CloudFront, S3, ECS, Lambda, ELK etc.)
• Work with the development teams to design scalable, robust systems using cloud architecture for both 0-to-1 and 1-to-100 products.
• Drive technical initiatives and architectural service improvements.
• Be able to predict problems and implement solutions that detect and prevent outages.
• Mentor/manage a team of engineers.
• Design solutions with failure scenarios in mind to ensure reliability.
• Document rigorously to keep track of all changes/upgrades to the infrastructure and as well share knowledge with the rest of the team

• Automate the build and testing processes to consistently integrate code

Job Dsecription:

Required Experience and Expertise

○ Having a good knowledge of Terraform + someone who has worked on large TF code bases.

○ Deep understanding of Terraform with best practices & writing TF modules.

○ Hands-on experience of GCP  and AWS and knowledge on AWS Services like VPC and VPC related services like (route tables, vpc endpoints, privatelinks) EKS, S3, IAM. Cost aware mindset towards Cloud services.

○ Deep understanding of Kernel, Networking and OS fundamentals

DevOps Engineer responsibilities include deploying product updates, identifying production issues, and implementing integrations that meet customer needs. Skills and Experience

• 4+ years of experience in building infrastructure experience with Cloud Providers ( AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Experience in deploying containerized applications build on NodeJS/PHP/Python to kubernetes cluster.

• Experience in monitoring production workload with relevant metrics and dashboards.

• Experience in writing automation scripts using Shell, Python, Terraform, etc.

• Experience in following security practices while setting up the infrastructure. 

• Self-motivated, able, and willing to help where help is needed

• Able to build relationships, be culturally sensitive, have goal alignment, have learning agility  

Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage various resources across different cloud providers. (Azure, AWS, and GCP)

• Monitor and optimize infrastructure cost.

• Manage various kubernetes clusters with appropriate monitoring and alerting setup.

• Build CI/CD pipelines to orchestrate provisioning and deployment of various services into kubernetes infrastructure.

• Work closely with the development team on upcoming features to determine the correct infrastructure and related tools.

• Assist the support team with escalated customer issues.

• Develop, improve, and thoroughly document operational practices and procedures. 

• Responsible for setting up good security practices across various clouds.

• Must have good understanding of  Python and Shell scripting with industry standard coding conventions

• Good to have experience in Jenkins framework tool

• Understanding of BIOS / FW QA  is a strong plus
