Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced QA/QC Engineer for Substation Projects responsible for ensuring quality assurance and quality control activities during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical substations. The candidate should have strong knowledge of inspection procedures, quality standards, documentation, and site execution practices related to AIS/GIS substations and associated electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor QA/QC procedures for substation projects 

• Review project specifications, drawings, method statements, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and quality procedures 

• Conduct inspections for: 

o Substation equipment installation 

o Cable laying and termination 

o Earthing and lightning protection systems 

o Control & relay panels 

o Structures and electrical assemblies 

• Ensure compliance with project specifications, client standards, and applicable IEC/IS standards 

• Coordinate inspections with clients, consultants, third-party agencies, and internal teams 

• Monitor material receiving inspections and maintain material traceability records 

• Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation including: 

o Inspection reports 

o NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) 

o Quality checklists 

o Test records 

o Final handover dossiers 

• Verify calibration status of measuring and testing instruments 

• Ensure proper implementation of approved procedures and work methods at site 

• Conduct internal quality audits and support external audits 

• Track quality issues and ensure corrective/preventive actions are implemented 

• Support testing and commissioning teams from QA/QC compliance perspective 

• Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards throughout project execution 

Required Skills & Technical Competencies

• Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes in electrical substation projects 

• Familiarity with AIS/GIS substations and EHV/HV equipment 

• Knowledge of: 

o IEC / IS standards 

o Quality documentation systems 

o Inspection and testing procedures 

o Electrical drawings and specifications 

• Experience in preparation and review of: 

o ITPs 

o QAPs 

o Method statements 

o Inspection checklists 

• Ability to interpret SLDs, GA drawings, schematics, and cable schedules 

• Good understanding of testing and commissioning quality requirements 

• Proficiency in MS Office and quality reporting tools 

• Strong communication, coordination, and reporting skills 

Preferred Experience

• Experience in transmission, utility, renewable energy, or EPC projects 

• Exposure to projects involving substations from 11kV to 400kV

• Experience working with major utilities, consultants, or EPC contractors 

• Knowledge of ISO quality management systems 

• Proven record of designing and delivering complex networking products from inception to production delivery. 
• Previous experience developing quality software for commercial products.
• Experience with communication systems involving wireless, radio, security and mesh networking technologies is a plus.
• Ability to work in a small team on fast paced projects that have tight deadlines
• Experience using Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Experience with Embedded real-time systems
• Must be an excellent SW developer. We expect experience developing software C/C++ in Linux. Python and other scripting languages is a plus.
• Target hardware includes Embedded CPU, DSP, and ARM environments
• Experience with Linux development infrastructure, tool chain and build environment.
• Experience developing both Linux device drivers and application software; installing Linux software and configuring embedded Linux systems
• Experience with OSI networking protocols and applications

Role Description

The SDE 2/3 will be part of the engineering/development team in Games24x7 Pvt. Ltd. and will be responsible for taking ownership of the core products of the company. The applicant must have good communication, interpersonal, technical and analytical skills in order to take part in the collaborative and cooperative development process that delivers the high quality software we use to provide the best possible playing experience to our players. He/she must be an expert in the Java programming language and needs to be familiar with popular IDEs, tools and scripting languages on the Linux operating system. Requirements:

• B.E. /B.Tech. in Computer Science or MCA from a reputed university.
• 3-12 years of experience in software development, with emphasis on JAVA/J2EE Server side programming.
• Hands on experience in core Java, multithreading, RMI, socket programing, JDBC, NIO, webservices and design patterns.
• Knowledge of distributed system, distributed caching, messaging frameworks, ESB etc.
• Experience in Linux operating system and PostgreSQL/MySQL/MongoDB/Cassandra database
• Additionally, knowledge of HBase, Hadoop and Hive is desirable.
• Familiarity with message queue systems and AMQP and Kafka is desirable.
• Experience as a participant in agile methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills.
