Why is this role important: Workplace Fabric is looking for Software Developers in Test (SDET) for its rapidly growing Technology team in order to build the next generation of services and applications that will drive our growing business. As an SDET, you will be a strong advocate for quality on the scrum team and assist in the planning, design, and verification of user stories. You will promptly identify and escalate defects, work with cross-functional product teams to isolate problems and track the issues to complete resolution. You will validate that user stories meet acceptance criteria and have sufficient automation in place. You will write automated tests for the service APIs and the frontend UI and advance best practices such as correct prioritization of exploratory tests and create a robust and maintainable regression test suites Primary Skills and Functional Experience: • Skilled at creating and executing test plans • Good understanding of software development best practices • Passion for finding bottlenecks and thresholds in existing code • Demonstrated skill in testing enterprise distributed systems • Excellent troubleshooting skills to root cause complex issues • Passion for product quality and attention to detail • Demonstrated skill in using coding standards and being an active participant in code reviews • Strong ability and eagerness to quickly learn new technologies • Strong time management skills with a history of meeting commitments • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Desired Skills and Functional Experience: • Should have good experience on bug tracking & test management tools • Good understanding of operating systems, databases and networking protocols • Understanding and demonstrated use of Ruby, Ruby on Rails, RSpec etc. • Good working knowledge of Linux • Demonstrated skill using Git • Knowledge of performance and scalability test approaches and automation Role and Responsibilities will include: You are a highly energetic individual with excellent written and communication skills. You will interact with product, design, QA and many other groups to design and develop world class engineering products in an exciting fast-paced environment. You will be involved in defining compelling new features, supporting innovative and intuitive user interfaces, and implementing core application logic. You will work closely with other engineers and different groups across Workplace Fabric. As Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) at Workplace Fabric, you will design test specs and create test strategy for new and existing features, including the RESTful and SOAP APIs of our services. You will create, prioritize, and organize test cases into logical suites for both automated and manual execution. You will define test framework requirements and develop modules to automate feature test cases. You will automate test cases using frameworks for functional, performance, and stress tests. You will also create automated test tools to reduce manual test execution time. You will execute test cases and report results after initial creation. You will execute and monitor results of automated suites within our CI infrastructure, work with other engineers to increase manual and automated test coverage, research evolving test and automation trends. You will utilize test and development best practices, patterns, and processes within the engineering team. You will participate in Scrum for assigned projects, and work closely with Development to define, research, correct, and retest defects. You will represent testing needs in software requirements and design review inspections. You will research technical advancements to improve testing for new or existing products. You will continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize testing efficiency.
