Senior Data (Platform) Engineer

About the Role 

Are you passionate about building reliable, scalable data platforms that make analytics and AI development easier? As a Senior Data Platform Engineer, you will be hands-on in building, operating, and improving our core data platform and AI/LLM enablement tooling. 

You’ll focus on infrastructure, orchestration, CI/CD, and reusable frameworks that support analytics engineering and AI-driven use cases. You’ll work closely with Analytics Engineering and Insights teams and support other departments as they integrate with our data systems. 

What You'll Do 

Data Platform & Infrastructure

• Build, deploy, and operate cloud infrastructure for data and AI workloads using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Provision and manage cloud resources across development, staging, and production environments.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data transformations, orchestration workflows, and platform services.
• Operate and scale containerized workloads on Kubernetes, including Airflow, internal APIs, and AI/LLM services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, pipeline, and orchestration failures to ensure platform reliability.
• Maintain and support existing ML services and pipelines to ensure stability and reliability (No expectation to design or develop new ML models or training pipelines).
• Continuously monitor and optimize platform performance and cost. 

Framework, Tooling and Enablement

• Build and maintain reusable frameworks and patterns for dbt, Airflow, Cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, etc.), Internal data and AI APIs
• Build and support infrastructure and pipelines for AI/LLM-based use cases, including orchestration, integration, and serving.
• Improve developer experience for Analytics Engineering and Insights teams by reducing friction in local development, deployments, and production workflows.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and examples to support self-service analytics and data development. 

What You’ll Need 

Technical Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or similar hands-on roles.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Terraform
• Airflow
• dbt
• Kubernetes
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure)
• CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, etc.)
• Cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, etc.) 
• Strong understanding of analytical data models and how analytics teams consume data.
• Experience integrating and operating LLM-based pipelines and services (not model training). 

Soft Skills & Collaboration

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex platform issues.
• Strong preference for declarative development, with the ability to clearly separate what a system should do from how it is implemented.
• Clear communicator who can work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing & driving the online business on E-commerce marketplaces.
• Responsible for uploading new collections on a weekly basis and ensuring catalogue hygiene of the uploaded catalogue.
• Handling the marketing budgets & the paid advertising campaigns/sponsored ads on the marketplaces.
• Responsible for handling product listings, promotions, deals, discounts & day-to-day operational issues related to the marketplace.
• Sole POC for communication with the category team.
• Strategizing & implementing the plan of action for the month on month growth in the sales from the existing online marketplace.
• Ensuring that all new products are uploaded and listed on websites/channels
• Repricing the products
• FBA Set up a pricing minimum to maximum for FBA listings
• Creating product listings and set minimum and maximum pricing
• Generating out of stock report, bestselling products report, runout stock report brand by brand on daily basis.
• Sort out pricing error issues and re-activate the listings. Inactivate listing to make active listing if required.
• Deleting discarded SKUs from all channels if required
• Optimizing listings with accurate product information, images, pricing and placement to increase sales and maximize revenue
• Optimize existing listings of current products to ensure we are exploring sales opportunities
• Keep up to date with industry techniques for SEO and content marketing
• To analyze product pricing vs our competitors on an ongoing basis and make pricing adjustments
• Support customer care emails and calls and also support social media campaigns.
• Ability to communicate effectively and to operate as part of a team

We are looking for passionate NodeJS Developer responsible for the development of cloud-native Microservices driven systems. Skills in Angular, NodeJs and PostgreSQL. Knowledge of Azure will be an added advantage. Should have knowledge of Source Control.

The end-to-end, design to solution approach is what makes you a perfect fit for the role. Constant upgradation of systems based on user feedback, internal research, performance improvements and bug fixes will be your primary focus. Occasionally you will interact with stakeholders to take the system to the next level.

Your main duties will include creating micro services and components and coupling them together into a functional app. You will work in a self-sufficient team with widely experienced in developing & managing BFSI systems.

Total software development experience of 3- 4 years with minimum 1 year on NodeJS

Collaborate with business leads/managers, team members, RPO partners, recruitment agencies and other groups to run an effective recruiting unit

• Own planning and achievement of team targets, help team members on aspects like sourcing, quality checks, meeting their goals
• Implement weekly/monthly execution strategies through your team (5-6 members) to provide effective, in-time hires
• Work within predefined recruitment processes, also assess scope for improvement and build new methodologies
• Work on offer-generation, negotiation and post offer follow-up
• Continuously think and implement better candidate engagement practices (pre and post offer)
• Take initiatives to improve offer to join ratio and track necessary data trends
• Prepare team interview coordination plans and manage interviews in and out of Pune
• Work meticulously on ATS adherence and motivate the team to do so
• Work on data gathering, analysing and reporting, fetch meaningful hiring data trends

Required professional and technical expertise:

• Minimum 8 - 12years of experience in recruiting (preferably in IT corporates or Large RPO's)
• Must have worked on niche skills and targeted hiring (headhunting)
• Expertise in sourcing through social media channels and other innovative sourcing channels would be a plus
• Demonstrable experience in partner management and strength to hold difficult conversations with them
• Ambitious individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, ability to lead a team

• Extensive experience in building REST APIs
• Experience in building, managing, and enhancing backend / server-side development using java / java scripts. Expertise in NodeJS is preferred
• The person must have built systems that consume and process volumes of data from various sources. Experience in handling and managing data in NoSQL databases such as Mongodb.
• Extensive experience of building custom UI for web using the popular frameworks like angular and react. Experience in developing mobile UI is nice to have
• Experience of working with code repositories such as Github and GitLab.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Experience of working on Cloud environments and experience in AWS is preferred.
• Experience in Dockers and Kubernetes for deployments
