Video Engineer – Software Engineering and Media Processing @IXG Inc.

About the Role

IXG is building the future of cloud-native, GPU-powered remote video production and 

media transport. We’re looking for a Video Engineer with deep expertise in C/C++ / Rust, 

GStreamer, and FFmpeg to help architect the next-gen media stack — designed for realtime streaming, low-latency workflows, and automated broadcast delivery.

What You'll Work On

• Design and optimize video/audio pipelines using GStreamer and FFmpeg

• Integrate modern streaming protocols: SRT, NDI, RIST, RTMP

• Work with codecs and containers: H.264, H.265, AAC, Opus, MPEG-TS, MP4, and 

others

• Troubleshoot latency, sync, buffer, and transport issues in live or automated media 

environments

• Collaborate with backend and edge software teams to deliver high-performance, 

distributed video systems

• Stay ahead of the curve on broadcast and streaming technologies

What We’re Looking For

• 3-5 years of experience in Software Engineering & Media Processing

• Proficiency in C and C++ or Rust, with experience building performance-critical 

applications

• Strong experience working with GStreamer and FFmpeg in production

• Deep understanding of video/audio codecs, mux/demux, and streaming containers

• Hands-on experience with SRT, NDI, RIST, RTMP, or similar protocols

• Knowledge of media sync, buffering, and low-latency optimization techniques

• Comfortable working in Linux environments, debugging across layers

Bonus If You Have

• Experience with WebRTC or ultra-low latency video delivery

• Worked on GPU-based encoding/decoding (e.g., NVIDIA NVENC, Intel QuickSync)

• Familiarity with SMPTE standards, SDI workflows, or AES67 audio

• Exposure to cloud-based video processing stacks (e.g., AWS Media Services)

Job description

• Responsible for Installation and Troubleshooting Operating System, Laptops, Desktops, Printer, Networking Device, Internet, Remote Desktop and all types of applications, drivers, and necessary updates.
• Responsible for Installation, Maintenance & Troubleshooting of Desktops, Laptop, and their operating system.
• Hands-on experience with Windows 10/11 operating system environments
• Use all means possible to assist users including by phone, via email, in-person, MS Teams or using remote support tools.
• Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions.
• Knowledge of office 365, MS team, One Drive and SharePoint and anti-virus programs
• Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
• Address user tickets regarding hardware, software, and networking L1, etc.
• Manage and maintain IT asset inventory and documentation.

Desired Skills and Experience -

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems.
• Strong diagnostic/ troubleshooting skills, must have an innate curiosity and interest in IT
• Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP protocol stack, and Wi-Fi.
• Working knowledge of supporting pcs in a domain environment.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Applications, Mathematics, Statistics or related technical field or equivalent practical experience. Relevant experience of at least 3 years in lieu of above if from a different stream of education.

• Well-versed in and 5+ years of hands-on demonstrable experience with:

• 5+ years of hands-on development experience in Relational Database (PostgreSQL/SQL Server/Oracle).

• Hands-on experience with demonstrable working experience in Database Design Principles, SQL Query Optimization Techniques, Index Management, Integrity Checks, Statistics, and Isolation levels

• Hands-on experience with demonstrable working experience in Database Read & Write Performance Tuning & Optimization.

• Knowledge and Experience working in Domain Driven Design (DDD) Concepts, Object Oriented Programming System (OOPS) Concepts, Cloud Architecture Concepts, NoSQL Database Concepts are added values

• Knowledge and working experience in Oil & Gas, Financial, & Automotive Domains is a plus

• Hands-on development experience in one or more NoSQL data stores such as Cassandra, HBase, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Elastic Search, Neo4J, etc. a plus.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 2+ Years should be required in iOS development.
• Should be well aware about iPhone/iPad application development
• Should be well versed with Core data concepts
• Should be well versed with Swift-UI
• Should be well versed with Network load optimisations & other core networking concepts
• Must be very good with designing pixel perfect UI
• Good to have Core Audio, Graphics & video frameworks.
• Good knowledge of app deployment process & good to have knowledge on build automation.
• Should have decent communication skills to be able to interact with Clients.

Specific responsibilities commensurate with experience and include:

• Ability to react quickly and effectively to identify and resolve issues that heavily impact CI/CD system (immediate mitigation of impact, long-term resolution including strategies for risk mitigation/monitoring/alert for proactive resolution of potential future occurrences)
• Design, develop, unit test, and implement build automation scripts including environment configuration validation processes
• Automate and improve development process by evaluation and introduction of new tools and scripts, and manage their life cycle and validation
• Determine branching strategy and maintain branches for various components, products, and product lines
• Come up with solutions to open-ended problems that focus on workflow improvements for the Software department
• Address issues with well-defined requirements efficiently; come up with short-term and long-term solutions and staged deployment strategies
• Self-driven-- takes action to move tickets from start to completion with minimal oversight
• Ability to communicate with and consider perspectives of stakeholders including but not limited to: IT, software development, verification

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
• 6+ years (minimum) experience handling Build, Release, and Deployment of software on Windows and/or Linux environments (on-premise)
• Experience with the development and deployment of CM processes and tools
• Build automation for .NET using TeamCity (Jenkins is an asset)
• Scripting languages: Windows batch scripting, Powershell, Ant/NAnt
• Source control systems usage, branching strategies, and workflow (Git preferred, Subversion)
• 6+ years of hands-on programming experience with C# and .NET (both Framework and Core)
• Troubleshooting and debugging-- what information to gather when there are issues with CI/CD system, and how to gather it (i.e., analyzing network communication? Windows crash dumps, java logs, etc.)
• 6+ years (minimum) in web/desktop application software development experience
• Excellent problem solving, critical and analytical thinking
• Strong team player who understands SDLC and QA methodologies
• A professional, results-oriented individual with a high degree of self-motivation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to coordinate work/activities with multiple software/IT teams
• Working with virtual machines and build management on virtual machines (VMware preferred).
• Managing configurations for multiple build environments
• OS administration and scripting experience (Windows is a must, Linux desired)
• Experience with test automation tools (NUnit, customer inhouse frameworks) and strategies is an asset
• Creation and maintenance of monitoring and alert systems (Zabbix)
• Familiarity with databases (SQL-based) - create, modify, optimize (via script)
• Data and metrics gathering, aggregation, and reporting
• Experience with work management and documentation tools: JIRA and Confluence
