Backend Software Engineer

Role Description : Senior Java Developer

As a senior developer you will be responsible to manage the software development life cycle from planning to prioritizing to testing and release. Responsibilities includes gathering system and team product requirements, building java modules and testing features before release. Should have hands on experience developing software with agile methodologies and are ready to lead our junior developers.

Responsibilities • Contribute to all phases of development lifecycle. • Planning of API workflow. • Understanding the requirements all the teams involved and planning the development process. • Write well designed, testable, efficient code. • Prepare and produce releases of software components. • Support continuous improvements by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architecture review. • Designing, implementing, and maintaining java applications that are often high-volume and low latency. • Identify bottlenecks and bugs and advise solutions to these problems. • Develop highly scalable REST APIs to use in our applications. • Guide the team and help them in any complex situations.

Some qualifications that we think would help you thrive in this role are: • Minimum 8+ Years in a Java programming. • Expert hands-on knowledge of latest technology, good exposure to web technologies and open to all technologies like Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Microservices, Cloud computing, any DB. • Very good exposure to DevOps concepts and tools, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. • Quick learner believes in continuous learning and acts as a catalyst for building the culture within the organization. 

• Analytical thinking skills, problem solving with strong exposure to root causing tools and techniques and ability to come up with solutions in complex situations. • Familiar with various design and architectural patterns. • Bachelor/Masters of CS/IT Engineering, BCA/MCA, B Sc/M Sc in CS/IT

Preferred Qualifications • Deep insights of Java and J2EE internals such as memory management, transaction management, etc. • Skill for writing reusable Java libraries. • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git. • Familiarity with build tools such as Ant, Maven, and Gradle. • Ability to work without guidance and under tight deadlines. • Result oriented and focused on meeting deliverable timelines. • Teamwork and willingness to listen to others. • Communicate effectively • Good knowledge of microservices. • Expertise in developing enterprise level web applications and RESTful APIs using Microservices with demonstrable production-scale experience. • Strong background working with Linux/Unix environments. • Working experience in industry standard protocols related API security. • Clear understanding of web services and SOA related standards like REST/OAuth/JSON.

Location: Bengaluru/Udupi (NO WORK FROM HOME OPTION)

Notice Period: Immediate Joining or Maximum 1 Month

1. Design patterns- socket communication/ micro services architecture 
2. Caching - REDIS MEMCACHED etc
3. Database - MONGO, SQL etc. min 2yrs experience with these.
4. Features created for large concurrent requests.
5. Node Js, Go lang any asynchronous programming language min 2 yrs exp with any one of them.
6. Message Queues - RABBIT MQ, Kafka etc.

Experience:

The candidate should have about 5+ years of experience with design and development in Java/Scala. Experience in algorithm, data-structure, database and architectures of distributed System is mandatory.

Required Skills:

1. In-depth knowledge of Hadoop, Spark architecture and its components such as HDFS, YARN and executor, cores and memory param
2. Knowledge of Scala and Java both
3. Extensive experience in developing spark job. Should possess good Oops knowledge and be aware of enterprise application design patterns.
4. Good knowledge of Unix/Linux.
5. Experience working on large-scale software projects
6. Understanding the big picture and the various uses cases involved while crafting the solution and documenting them in Unified Modeling language.
7. Own and maintain the architecture document.
8. Keep an eye out for technological trends, open-source projects that can be used.
9. Knows common programming languages and Frameworks.
10. Real time streaming data consumption

Good to have :

1. Azure/AWS Cloud Knowledge of Data Storage and Compute side
2. Knowledge Multitenant Architecture

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver scalable web services, APIs and backend data modules.
• Understand requirements and develop reusable code using design patterns & component architecture and write unit test cases
• Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to elicit and understand the requirements and develop solutions
• Stay current with latest tools, technology ideas and methodologies; share knowledge by clearly articulating results and ideas to key decision makers.

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience writing multithreaded programs running in Java
• Experience on Java, Spring Boot,, Apache Nifi ,  workingDocker, EKS, Azkaban, Jenkins
• Experience with Git and build tools like Gradle/Maven/SBT.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, profiling, and optimization.
• Have elegant, readable, maintainable and extensible code style.
• Experience on AWS is preferable
• Knowledge on top algorithms like sorting, heap/stack, queue, search, etc.
• Familiarity with test-driven development
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment, with ability to deliver code of quality quickly.
• Attention to details. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent

• Experience in designing and developing web-based applications using Java, J2EE, Web Services, MVC framework, Servlets Spring, Hibernate, Struts, REST, MYSQL.
• Experience in Database application programming for MySQL server using
  Stored Procedures, Triggers, Views etc.
• Experienced in implementing presentation layer using JSP, HTML, CSS, Ajax, JQuery. Java script.
• Experienced in Analysis, Design, Development, Integration, Deployment
  and Maintenance of Web services, Client Server and Web based applications.
• Well versed with Agile development process, Scrum.
• Good knowledge in version control system tools like GIT.
• Ability to take independent responsibility as well as ability to contribute and be a productive team member.
