• Database Design & Development:
• Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL databases.
• Develop efficient schemas, indexes, and stored procedures to optimize data performance.
• Backend Development:
• Develop RESTful APIs and backend services using Node.js.
• Integrate databases with backend applications for seamless data flow.
• Query Optimization & Performance Tuning:
• Optimize SQL queries for performance and scalability.
• Monitor database health and troubleshoot slow queries or deadlocks.
• Security & Compliance:
• Implement database security best practices, including role-based access control (RBAC) and encryption.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards like GDPR, HIPAA, etc.
• Data Migration & Backup:
• Develop and maintain data migration scripts between different PostgreSQL versions or other databases like mongodb.
• Set up and manage database backup and recovery strategies.
• Write efficient SQL queries and manage database schemas using PostgreSQL.
• Build RESTful APIs and integrate third-party APIs/services.
• Optimize application performance and troubleshoot production issues.
• Ensure data security and protection practices are followed.
• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our engineering team to help build and maintain our growing list of products. You should have prior experience being responsible for building sufficiently complex features by yourself.

Responsibilities: 

• Implement product features by writing clean, robust, reusable code with tests
• Conduct peer reviews to keep the codebase a great environment to work on
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers and Engineers to deliver high-quality features
• Bring new ideas and best practices to improve the team and the codebase

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional work experience
• Proficiency in backend programming languages like Python
• Experience working with web application frameworks like Django
• Experience in building web services using relational databases like PostgreSQL or NoSQL databases like MongoDB
• Proficiency in writing highly performant and scalable code
• Experience in building REST APIs and a good understanding of best practices around building APIs
• Good communication skills with an ability to articulate your views
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Must have experience in either of JavaScript frameworks: Angular (Preferred) / ReactJS/Node.
• Must have experience in either of backend software development in NODE Js or [J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring core, JPA]
• Must have experience in designing/implementing Hibernate/ORM, Restful web services, Micro Services using Java or Node Js
• Knowledge with relational/ NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB)
• Knowledge with versioning (Git or SVN) /build tools (Maven/Ant/Gradle/Junit), Unit testing & code coverage tools is desired
• Knowledge of App / Web servers (NGINX / Tomcat / Jboss Wildfly)
• Understands the process of new application development and has the ability to apply these concepts with minimal mentoring and supervision.
• Advanced knowledge experience using any of IDE (e.g., Eclipse, SonarQube, STS, VS Code)

• Manage and improve the engineering process continuously and make sure the team delivers the quality code with zero-waste.

• Maintain the legacy code base and reduce tech debt on a continuous basis.
