About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Android Developer with 5+ years of strong hands-on experience in Android application development. This role will involve designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing high-quality Android mobile applications. Strong expertise in Android development, application architecture, API integration, debugging, performance optimization, and production deployment.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

·       5+ years of professional experience in Android application development.

·       Strong hands-on Android development experience is mandatory.

·       Strong proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java.

·       Strong understanding of the Android SDK, Android Studio, Android application lifecycle, UI components, layouts, and navigation.

·       Experience developing and deploying production applications on the Google Play Store.

·       Strong experience with REST APIs, JSON, API integration, and third-party SDK integration.

·       Good understanding of mobile application architecture and design patterns.

·       Experience with Git and modern version-control practices.

·       Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.

·       Good working knowledge of React Native is required.

Key Responsibilities

·       Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable and high-performance Android applications.

·       Take complete ownership of Android application development from requirement analysis to production deployment.

·       Develop clean, maintainable, reusable, and efficient code following Android development best practices.

·       Integrate REST APIs, third-party APIs, SDKs, payment gateways, push notifications, analytics, and other mobile services.

·       Troubleshoot and resolve application crashes, performance issues, memory leaks, UI issues, and other production problems.

Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Android applications using Kotlin (Java knowledge preferred). Integrate REST APIs, Firebase, WebSockets, payment gateways, and third-party services while implementing secure authentication (OTP, JWT, OAuth) and role-based access control. Optimize application performance, security, scalability, and manage Play Store releases. Experience with Git, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), and API security best practices is essential. Exposure to real-time applications (ride-hailing, delivery, chat), CI/CD, Docker, and WhatsApp Business API is an advantage. Candidates should possess strong analytical, debugging, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.

Build the Android Product

• Build the InSeconds Android application from scratch using Kotlin.
• Develop and ship core product experiences across the application.
• Build reusable, scalable and high-quality Android components.
• Translate product ideas and designs into intuitive mobile experiences.

Own the Architecture

• Take ownership of the Android application's architecture and technical decisions.
• Build a clean, scalable and maintainable codebase.
• Work with modern Android development practices, including Jetpack Compose, Coroutines and modern architecture patterns.
• Make thoughtful decisions around performance, state management and data handling.

APIs & Integrations

• Integrate backend APIs and services.
• Implement authentication, user profiles, content feeds, opportunities, connections, messaging and other core functionality.
• Work closely with the backend team to build and integrate APIs.
• Implement notifications, analytics and other native Android capabilities.

Job description

Own the reliability of Android automation software running on devices and emulators. You will improve existing native components, diagnose failures, integrate execution with backend services and ensure that reported outcomes match what actually happened.

This is a native engineering role requiring Kotlin, Android lifecycle knowledge and practical device debugging. You will work alongside backend, integration and browser automation engineers. Company-provided AI coding tools support the work.

Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain Kotlin components for authorised UI automation and device interaction.

- Handle lifecycle changes, permissions, background execution, interruptions and recovery.

- Diagnose device/emulator problems using ADB, logs and reproducible scenarios.

- Integrate job execution and result reporting with backend APIs, with durable state and sensible retries.

- Improve state detection, timeout handling and truthful success/failure reporting.

- Maintain tested builds, secure credential handling, signing and controlled rollouts.
