Role Overview

You will be at the forefront of scaling our infrastructure to support billions of messages, ensuring real-time engagement for businesses at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Own the engineering roadmap, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance of our systems.
• Hands-on Development: Dive into the code when necessary, set high coding standards, and lead by example.
• Team Management: Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering team, fostering a strong culture of ownership and innovation.
• System Scalability: Architect and optimize scalable and resilient backend & frontend systems handling millions of messages per day.
• High Availability & Performance: Design systems that can handle billions of API calls and ensure minimal downtime.
• Agile Execution: Drive sprint planning, prioritization, and timely delivery of features in an agile development environment.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product, design, and business teams to align engineering efforts with company goals.
• DevOps & Security: Ensure best practices for CI/CD, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), and security compliance.
• Tech Stack Evolution: Stay ahead of emerging technologies and drive innovation in AiSensy’s architecture.

What You Bring

• 8+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a leadership/managerial role.
• Expertise in modern tech stacks – Proficiency in MERN (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js) stack or similar.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS) and microservices architecture.
• Proven experience in scaling high-traffic, distributed systems handling billions of messages per month.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to hustle in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Excellent communication skills and a data-driven decision-making approach.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead the development of our across all phases of software and web development including ideation, prototyping, design, production, and maintenance.
• Work closely with founders and internal/external stakeholders to build products, tools, and services from scratch and deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Be actively involved in requirements gathering, customer interviews and the creation of robust product solutions.
• Brainstorm and lay the foundations of the technology and architectural roadmap as well as the development processes.
• Share your technical expertise to help the team make thoughtful and scalable design decisions and identify performance bottlenecks to troubleshoot quickly.
• Manage product development priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Hire and manage a small team of engineers (internal/outsourced).
• Ensure high-performant and responsive web applications and websites.

Skills & Qualities we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
• 4-7 years of experience as a full-stack developer (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers) at a fast-paced, preferably early / growth stage start-up.
• Proficient with frontend technologies - HTML, CSS, JavaScript & ReactJS/VueJS.
• Proficient with backend technologies - Java/NodeJs/Golang/Python/Ruby.
• Hands-on experience working with any cloud AWS/GCP/Azure/DigitalOcean.
• Knowledge of codebases and version control systems (Git).
• Well-versed with SQL database design & RDBMS concepts.
• Strong arithmetic reasoning, logical and analytical thinking skills.
• Strong knowledge of code quality maintenance and performance analysis.

Exposure to sql databases like Oracle, Mysql, Microsoft Sql is a must. Any experience / knowledge / certification on Cloud technology preferrably Microsoft Azure is good to have. Exposures to non sql databases like Neo4j or Document database is again good to have.

Job Description:

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Perform full stack development activities using MERN Stack
2. Ability to translate UX Designs into functional web apps using React JS
3. Technical architecture design along with system architect and product manager
4. Writing effective business logic (using Rest API or GraphQL API)
5. Algorithm design for system modules
6. Database design for scalable and secure system using NoSQL (MongoDB) or RDBMS (MySQL or PostgreSQL)
7. POC development with other engineers
8. Efforts estimations with Product Manager and Engineering Head
9. Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
10. Writing Unit testing for robust system
11. Technical documentation

Requirement & Skills:

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences or equivalent stream. PG is good to have
2. Strong Knowledge of algorithms and data structures
3. Hands on experience in MERN stack (MySQL or PostgreSQL would be plus)
4. Hands on experience to develop Rest/GraphQL API using Node.js with Typescript.
5. Hands on experience on AWS services (EC2, SQS, SES, Lambda).
6. Fundamentals of Docker/Containerized application development would be plus
7. Experience working with US Clients is a Must
8. Experience and Exposure working with different projects and business models will be an advantage
9. 5+ years of experience as Full Stack Development (MERN stack)
10. Experience in SaaS product development would be a plus
11. Experience in other JS frameworks like Next.JS, React Native/Expo would be plus
