Job Title: Tech Lead and SSE – Kafka, Python, and Azure Databricks (Healthcare Data Project)

Experience: 4 to 12 years

Role Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled Tech Lead with expertise in Kafka, Python, and Azure Databricks (preferred) to drive our healthcare data engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in real-time data streaming, cloud-based data platforms, and large-scale data processing. This role requires strong technical leadership, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of real-time data pipelines using Kafka, Python, and Azure Databricks.
• Architect scalable data streaming and processing solutions to support healthcare data workflows.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured healthcare data.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, HITRUST, etc.).
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot and optimize Kafka streaming applications, Python scripts, and Databricks workflows.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and ensure best practices in data engineering.
• Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies, big data frameworks, and industry trends.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering, with strong proficiency in Kafka and Python.
• Expertise in Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect, and Schema Registry for real-time data processing.
• Experience with Azure Databricks (or willingness to learn and adopt it quickly).
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS or GCP is a plus).
• Proficiency in SQL, NoSQL databases, and data modeling for big data processing.
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines for data applications.
• Experience working with healthcare data (EHR, claims, HL7, FHIR, etc.) is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving mindset, and ability to lead complex data projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Work closely with Backend Engineers to integrate APIs and other services

• 3+ years of experience in UI/frontend development.
• Hands-on experience using React as a front-end development framework.
• Sound knowledge of front-end development languages, tools and methodologies like HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and associated technologies and toolsets (e.g. jQuery, Sass)
• Able to write front-end code that is cross-browser and cross-device friendly, through responsive or adaptive techniques is essential.
• Working knowledge of AWS for product development and deployment is preferred
• Experience using Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Delivery (CD) systems for development and deployment.
• Proven knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD).

• Vast knowledge of PHP programming concepts.
• Hands-on experience on object-oriented PHP, MVC design pattern and Laravel 5+ PHP Framework.
• Good understanding of Relational Database and normalization concepts.
• Should be hands-on with CSS, HTML (Responsive Web Design), JavaScript, jQuery & AJAX.
• Good communication skills; both verbal as well as written.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and manage time efficiently to meet project timelines
• Ability to work well independently, or with remote teams
• Creative and efficient problem solver.

• Experience in Agile Software Development projects
• Experience in writing Unit Testing cases (PHPUnit, PHPSpec, Behat)
• Capable to perform code reviews and provide code to optimize performance of the application.

• Experience in web technologies (Object-Oriented JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and experience with web standards, including HTML5 and CSS3
• In depth understanding of Angular concepts and structures
• Should have strong debugging skills on Developer Tools of the browser and Working with Cross Browser UI
• Should have solid understanding and experience (at least 1+ years) with Object-Oriented design and development
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proactive attitude to problem resolution
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and manage time efficiently to meet project timelines
• Ability to work well independently, or with remote teams

• Experience in Agile Software Development projects
• Knowledge on how to create modules and libraries with angular and publish it on platform like npmjs.
• Knowledge on Nrwl's developer tools
• Experience in writing Unit Testing cases.
