• Define the architecture to build modern, performant, efficient front-end systems and user-facing features that drive complex web applications.
• Collaborate with mobile application teams to define and implement a coherent, extensible front end architecture.
• Write clean, fast, compatible, easy-to-use, testable code to build modern web applications.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability. 
• Lead the definition of policies for building secure web applications, and ensure that security standards are adhered to.
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to ensure team targets are met. Explore existing systems, and determine areas of complexity and potential risks to the successful implementation of advanced visualization products.

• B.E/B.Tech or higher from top-ranked colleges.
• 5+ years of experience architecting and building modern, progressive, responsive web applications across desktop and mobile.
• Expertise in Javascript and Typescript, and frameworks such as NextJS, ReactJS, and VueJS. Ability to work on the server side of web applications as needed.
• Expertise in HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Tailwind, and Other CSS Frameworks, and server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS 3.
• Good understanding of, and experience working with web technologies such as Http,  REST and GraphQL APIs, asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and advanced web performance. 
• Knowledge of, and experience with, SEO principles and best practices, accessibility, and internationalization, and ensuring that applications will adhere to them.
• Expert knowledge of web application vulnerabilities, how to protect against them, and ensuring adherence across all web applications.
• Obsession with web performance optimization, and expert knowledge of tools used to monitor and tune performance.
• Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers. Demonstrated ability to communicate with users, other technical teams, and senior management, to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, productive software engineers
• Able to learn large scale complex systems quickly.

Headless Development: Lead the frontend development of our Shopify app, including

building new features, revamping existing functionalities, and optimising performance.

User Interface Design: Collaborate with the design team to implement responsive,

pixel-perfect UI components that align with our brand’s aesthetic and provide an intuitive

user experience.

Custom Theme Development: Create and customise Shopify themes to enhance the

visual appeal and functionality of our online store, ensuring compatibility with various

devices and browsers.

Integration and API Management: Work with third-party APIs and Shopify's API to integrate

necessary functionalities, such as payment gateways, shipping solutions, and marketing

tools.

Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and improve the app’s performance,

ensuring fast load times, seamless navigation, and a smooth user experience.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including backend developers,

designers, marketers, and product managers, to deliver high-quality solutions on time.

Code Review and Best Practices: Maintain clean, modular, and reusable code. Participate

in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices in frontend development.

Troubleshooting and Debugging: Identify and resolve issues, bugs, and performance

bottlenecks in a timely manner to ensure a seamless user experience.

Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for code, processes,

and development workflows.

Required Skills:

• Proven development experience on smartphone platforms.
• Hands-on experience on React Native Framework, including React JS, React Native, and JavaScript.
• Extensive programming experience with at least one programming language such as Swift, Java, JavaScript.
• Deep familiarity with iOS or Android development.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with code versioning and CI/CD tools like Git, SVM, Jenkins.
• Must have worked on at least one app that is published in AppStores.

Your Responsibilities

• You will be a rockstar front end engineer bringing to life designs and solutions created in collaboration with designers and product managers. You will be responsible for converting the requirements to fast, optimised, usable interfaces, loved by our users.
• You will be the main source of knowledge on everything “front end” related and guide the team to make correct technical decisions to ensure the speed and scale of the solutions deployed.
• Collaborate daily with back-end developers and web designers to improve the usability
• You will be a key person in ensuring that agile processes created by the team are adhered to and you actively contribute to the improvement of these processes. You will be responsible for estimating your tasks and ensuring that promised timelines are met.
• You will be responsible for the performance, security, scalability, reusability and quality of the applications under you. You will collaborate with senior engineering managers/architects to refine & improve your solutions. You will cascade the same culture across the team by supporting and mentoring team members, helping build truly scalable applications
• You will need to collaborate closely with product managers, designers and business stakeholders to achieve predictable results at a rapid pace. 
• You will be able to handle competing priorities and chart the best course of action for yourself and your team members ensuring blockers are removed
• You will help in attracting and evaluating tech talent to help build the engineering brand of the organization.

Desired background & skills

• 3-9 years of experience as an engineer at top tier digital product companies across consumer or SMB. 
• 3+ years of experience in working on front end JS frameworks like React/Angular/Vue
• Excellent knowledge of working with responsive and adaptive designs. Expert in HTML5, JAVAScript, JQuery & CSS. Basic knowledge of SEO.
• Experience of design collaboration tools such as Zeplin, Figma, XD, Invision. 
• Bonus if either you’re a full stack developer with knowledge of the back end or have experience with cross-platform mobile technologies such as React Native or Flutter.
• You have strong problem-solving skills, data structures and algorithms.

Quesst's is built using React.js [Frontend], Node.js [Backend], PostgreSQL [DB], Amazon EC2 [Application Hosting], Amazon S3 [Media Storage Service], and Amazon SES [Email Sending Service]. You will be responsible for implementing full-stack features and collaborate with other team members to plan each sprint. You’ll be working across the entire system architecture and be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining restful APIs, micro-services and databases.
