About the Role :

We are looking for a passionate and highly motivated iOS Developer (SDE-1) to join our engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to building and enhancing high-quality iOS applications that deliver seamless user experiences to millions of users. You will work closely with experienced developers, product managers, designers, and backend teams in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Mandatory Skills :

Swift, SwiftUI, iOS SDK, REST APIs, UIKit, Git, Mobile App Development, API Integration, Debugging & Performance Optimization.

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop and maintain high-quality iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI.
• Collaborate with the iOS development team to understand and contribute to the app architecture, codebase, and overall functionality.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy new features and enhancements for the iOS application.
• Integrate RESTful APIs and ensure seamless communication between mobile applications and backend services.
• Participate in code reviews and follow best coding practices to maintain high code quality.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance to ensure a smooth user experience.
• Stay updated with the latest iOS development trends, frameworks, and technologies.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, QA, and Backend Engineering teams.
• Contribute innovative ideas to improve application performance, scalability, and user experience.
• Support maintenance and enhancement of existing features and functionalities.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in iOS application development.
• Strong proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI.
• Good understanding of iOS SDK, UIKit, and mobile application architecture patterns.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON parsing, and third-party library integration.
• Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
• Familiarity with app performance optimization and debugging tools.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Experience working on scalable consumer-facing mobile applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.
• Knowledge of App Store deployment and release processes.
• Exposure to unit testing and automation testing frameworks is a plus.

Ideal Candidate

• Strong iOS Developer profile (B2C background)
• Mandatory (Experience): Must have 3+ years of hands-on experience in iOS development with atleast 1+ years in a B2C product company
• Mandatory (Skill 1): Must be proficient in both SwiftUI (modern UIs) and UIKit (legacy surfaces), and must have personally shipped 1+ iOS apps live to the App Store (verifiable links expected)
• Mandatory (Skill 2): Must have a solid grasp of iOS App architecture (MVVM or similar), REST API integration, Git, and CI/CD pipelines for mobile builds and releases
• Mandatory (Skill 3): Must have basic, hands-on Flutter exposure
• Mandatory (Company): B2C product companies. Recent B2C experience with prior exposure to B2B also acceptable
• Mandatory (Note): This role is for the Astrochat product of shaadi.com
• Preferred (Education): B.Tech / M.Tech from a top-tier college
• Preferred (Bonus iOS Stack): Hands-on with RxSwift, Core Data, or push notifications

What We're Looking For

• Strong hands-on experience with Swift and iOS development.
• Experience building and shipping real iOS applications using Swift.
• Strong understanding of SwiftUI / UIKit, iOS architecture, APIs and mobile development best practices.
• Prior experience building a consumer-facing app is a major plus.
• Someone who can take complete ownership of the iOS application and work independently from 0 → 1.
• Strong product and UX mindset — you care about how the product feels, not just whether the code works.
• Ability to work with APIs, authentication, notifications, analytics, backend integrations and other core mobile infrastructure.
• Comfortable making technical and product decisions in an early-stage environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to figure things out independently.
• Attention to performance, scalability, reliability and overall app quality.

What You'll Do

• Own the iOS application end-to-end, from architecture and development to testing and App Store releases.
• Build the new InSeconds product completely from the ground up.
• Work closely with the founder and design team to turn product ideas into polished experiences.
• Build core experiences around content discovery, founder profiles, opportunities, networking and messaging.
• Help shape the technical architecture and engineering practices as the product evolves.
• Continuously improve the app based on user feedback, product insights and performance.
• Take ownership of problems beyond your defined responsibilities when required.
