Skills:

Excellent proficiency with the ability to write clean, robust, production-level code. Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining web apps and rule engines is required. At least one year of experience as a developer in any engineering / software-based role is required.

1 Frontend Development

• JavaScript: Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including ES6+ features
• React: Experience building complex user interfaces using React and its ecosystem (e.g., Redux, Context API)
• HTML/CSS: Solid understanding of HTML5 and CSS3 for creating responsive and accessible web pages

2 Backend Development

• Python: Proficiency in Python for server-side development
• Django: Working knowledge in Django, Django Rest Framework
• Flask (or FastAPI): Experience building RESTful APIs using Flask or FastAPI is a plus

3 REST APIs: A strong understanding of APIs is required, along with prior experience in API development or integration. Writing REST APIs from scratch is highly desirable.

4 Databases: A basic understanding of both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) databases is required. Basic knowledge of database management, optimization, and query design is expected.

5 Git: Proficiency in Git is essential, with experience in branching, merging, pull requests, and conflict resolution. Experience in collaborative projects using Git is highly valued.

6 AI & LLMs: A keen eye on recent developments in AI (GenAI), with the ability to leverage AI-driven solutions in full-stack development. Strong desire to explore how AI and LLMs can accelerate the creation of innovative products, enhancing speed, efficiency, and overall productivity.

7 Good to have: 

• Basic understanding of data pipelines/ETLs, dashboarding, and AWS is beneficial but not required.
• Experience in building WhatsApp chat/flow journeys, Working with maps, and creating data layers (e.g., Google Maps API, Mapbox) is highly valued. (not mandatory)

What you'll be working on:

1. Design and build systems focused on creating straight-through processes for lending (specifically property loans), from customer onboarding to disbursement, with an emphasis on accurate and efficient credit and risk assessment.
2. Take projects from ideation to production, including web applications, rule engines, third-party API integrations, and other technology developments.
3. Take initiative and ownership of engineering projects, ensuring a seamless user experience.
4. Manage and coordinate the cloud infrastructure and application setup, including source code repositories, CI/CD pipelines, servers, and deployments.

• Develop, test, and maintain web applications using PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Collaborate with designers and stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including planning, designing, coding, testing, debugging, and deploying applications.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a PHP Full Stack Developer or similar role, with a minimum of 1-8 years of professional experience.
• Strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related frameworks (e.g., Laravel, CodeIgniter).
• Experience with front-end frameworks (e.g., Laravel, React, Angular, Vue.js) and modern development tools (e.g., Webpack, Git) is a plus.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and MVC architecture.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, and web services integration.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with agile development methodologies is preferred.

• DevOps Familiarity: Exposure to modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• SaaS Startups Experience: Prior experience working in SaaS startups or lean teams.
• Frontend Exposure: Familiarity with front-end technologies like ReactJS (optional but advantageous).

The Role

• Work as part of a full stack product team to develop solutions to ensure optimal experiences for our customers, riders, and restaurants

• Utilise a variety of backend technologies to build scalable products

Our skills include:

We want to emphasise that we don’t expect you to meet all of the below but would love you to have experience in some of these areas.

• Pride in readable, well-designed, well-tested software

• 5 to 10 years professional experience writing web-based applications in any language, and a willingness to quickly get up to speed on our stack (Ruby/Rails, Go, Python, Scala, or Rust)

• Experience with TDD environments (RSpec, Minitest, Capybara, Selenium)

• Experience with relational databases (PostGreSQL, MySQL) and key-value stores (Memcache, Redis)

• Experience with front-end web technology, bonus points for React

• Experience with web architecture at scale (20krpm and above)

• Experience with PostGIS, or any geography-heavy applications

• Experience with "NoSQL" data backends (Redis, MongoDB, ElasticSearch)

• Experience solving logistical problems with software

Our software developer for full stack role would be required to constantly work on building new features as per discussion with the product team.

Our front end code base is in Angular while the backend code base is in Python-Django.
