Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases. 8. Hands on with AWS, and other cloud platforms. autonomous world.Rich data in large volumes is getting collected at the edge (outside a datacenter) in use cases like autonomous vehicles, smart manufacturing, satellite imagery, smart retail, smart agriculture etc.These datasets are characterized by being unstructured
(images/videos), large size (Petabytes per month), distributed (across edge, on-prem and
cloud) and form the input for training AI models to get to higher degrees of automation.

Role:

This role is an individual contributor role with key responsibilities in developing web server
backends for Akridata management plane software that provides a ‘single pane of glass’ for users to manage assets, specify and monitor large volume data pipelines at scale involving 10s of petabytes of data.

This role involves:

1. Working with tech leads and the rest of the team on the feature design activities and
picking appropriate tools and techniques for implementation.
2. Be a hands-on developer able to independently make correct implement choices, follow
sound development practices to ensure an enterprise grade application.
3. Guide and mentor junior team members.

What we are looking for:

1. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science with strong CS fundamentals and
problem solving.
2. 5+ years of hands-on experience with software development with 3+ years on web
backend development.
3. A good understanding of backend application interactions with relational databases like
MySQL, Postgres etc
4. Knowledge of web server development frameworks preferably on Python.
5. Enthusiastic to work in a dynamic, fast paced startup environment.

Good to have:

1. Hands-on experience with designing database schema and implementing and debugging SQL queries for optimal performance for large datasets
2. Experience working with applications deployed on Kubernetes clusters.
3. Experience with working on a product from early stages of it’s development typically in a
startup environment.

Within a small team of developers, you’ll facilitate the in house migration of product from software development partners, manage business continuity and enhance the back-end architecture during the expansionary phase. Your work will involve: - Build highly scalable Java based applications - In the 1st phase, understand the first product that has been built externally; iterate and optimise it based on customer feedback - In the next phase, work on introducing pivotal new features in the existing product - Contribute to instating the early internal security policies - Contribute in building the initial data infrastructure to process and consume the growing streams of data - In the final phase, build and launch new products that encompass the multiple financial services requirements of the end user on a single platform Skills & Qualifications: - Proficiency in Java; at least two years of professional experience (preferably in a consumer product startup) - 1-2 years of experience in software development on the AWS Lambda micro-services architecture and NoSQL databases is mandatory - Familiarity with multiple layers of infrastructure and application stack - UI, application layer, database - Comfortable dealing with operational aspects like reporting, and infrastructure sizing - Preferably have experience with interfacing with external systems like Aadhaar, CIBIL, Social network sites, payment gateways etc. - Need to be high energy and be able to work under pressure. Eligibility

 

• 4-8 years of product company experience
• OOP implementation experience. Programming language does not matter. We use Java internally but have hired folks from non Java background.
• Hands on experience in SQL, Dynamo DB, Postgres etc preferred. 
• Prior experience building REST APIs
• Advanced understanding of AWS stack
• Prior knowledge of solving problems at scale.

Roles and responsibilities

• Develop well-designed performant and scalable applications and microservices
• Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code aligning to software development best practices
• Integrate data storage solutions including databases, key-value stores, blob stores, etc.
• Build integrations with 3rd party applications through apis’ to ingest and process data
• Develop state-of-the-art analytics tools to support diverse tasks ranging from ad hoc analysis to production-grade pipelines and workflows for customer applications
• Ensure security and data protection aspects within the applications
• Partner with Data Scientists and Analytics Engineers to improve the performance and reliability of advanced algorithms
• Ensure high performance and availability of distributed systems and applications
• Interact directly with client project team members and operational staff to support live customer deployments and production issues

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in developing applications using python and related technologies.
• Familiarity in data ingestion and processing libraries in python.
• Thorough understanding of REST and GRPC technologies.
• Experience in using ORM (Object Relational Mapper) libraries for data access.
• Experiencing in developing and hosting APIs and integration with external applications.
• Experience in building data models and repositories using relational and NoSql databases.
