Software Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on engineering leader who can own technical design and drive end-to-end development of scalable, high-quality systems. This role requires strong architectural depth, coding excellence, and the ability to mentor engineers while building production-grade applications in a fast-paced agile environment.

You will lead by example — designing systems, writing clean code, solving complex problems, and ensuring engineering best practices across the stack.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and architecture discussions (HLD & LLD).
• Build scalable, modular, and testable systems with strong engineering fundamentals.
• Own complex features end-to-end — design, development, testing, and optimization.
• Write high-quality, production-ready code with strong unit test coverage.
• Ensure clean code practices (SOLID principles, modular design, reusability).
• Drive engineering quality within CI/CD environments.
• Debug and resolve complex issues across distributed systems and APIs.
• Mentor engineers and elevate overall code quality standards.
• Collaborate effectively within agile teams and move with delivery velocity.

Core Technical Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in:
• Java
• Node.js
• Angular (6+)
• JavaScript / TypeScript
• SQL & MongoDB
• Deep understanding of system design, architecture patterns, and scalable application development.
• Strong debugging capabilities across:
• Distributed services
• API integrations
• UI state management
• Database query performance
• Experience working in CI/CD-driven engineering environments.

GenAI & AI Stack Expertise

• Hands-on experience with GenAI frameworks and LLM integrations.
• Familiarity with:
• LangChain ecosystem
• Hugging Face
• Prompt chaining & orchestration
• Understanding of AI cost optimization strategies.
• Ability to debug AI pipelines and optimize model interactions.

Job Description

As part of our dynamic international cross-functional team you will be responsible for the design, development and deployment of modern high quality software solutions and applications as an experienced and skilled Full-stack PHP Developer. 

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain the application.

Write clean, efficient, and reusable code.

Implement new features and functionality based on business requirements.

Participate in system and application architecture discussions.

Create technical designs and specifications for new features or enhancements.

Write and execute unit tests to ensure code quality.

Debug and resolve technical issues and software defects.

Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices.

Identify and fix vulnerabilities to ensure application integrity.

Working with other developers to ensure seamless integration backend and frontend elements. 

Collaborating with DevOps teams for deployment and scaling.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology, or a related field.

Proven experience as a skilled Full-stack developer with focus on PHP and web technologies. 

Strong experience with PHP 8 and 7, Symfony Framework, AWS / Azure or GCP, GitLab and Angular and / or React. Additional technologies like Java, Python, Go, Kotlin, Rust or similar are welcome.

Experienced with test driven development and QA Tools like f.e. PHPstan, Deptrac.

Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively in a team environment.

• Strong experience with JEE 7 and Java 11, or at least Java 8 with some understanding of Java 11
• Very good with Eclipse / IntelliJ
• Good experience into Angular 8+
• Very strong with Oracle / mySQL specifically SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers
• Having good experience with Maven, Git, Jenkins
• Good hands-on with Spring, Spring Boot
• Very strong with Agile methodologies and strong understanding about DevOps (at least CI / CD concepts and hands-on experience with developing and managing pipelines)
• Clean Code Principles

• Be responsible for engineering road map, architecture and scalability/quality of products.
• Effectively collaborate with Product managers, Business teams to develop long-term product roadmap and own release planning - in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Perform well in ambiguous situations. We are a startup with a significant product suite.
• Mentor and guide a team of engineers across various levels and areas of expertise. Help engineers make good architectural decisions, improve code quality and delivery.
• Be responsible for tech solutioning, architecture being deployed maintaining right balance b/w short term and long term outcomes – speed vs quality.
• Establish strong engineering best practices and champion their adoption.
• Define career trajectory for your team and share feedback regularly to help them grow.

• 7+ years of experience in end to end cloud software development with exposure in building scalable, fault tolerant and secure large scale distributed systems. At least 1-2 years managing eng. teams.
• Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering (preferably computer science or sister branches) from a reputed institute (preferably IITs, NITs, or other top engineering institutes).
• Deep expertise in Java & tech stack (Springboot) & micro service based architecture writing maintainable, scalable, unit-tested code. This position requires a good mix of hands-on and people management.
• Hands-on experience in low-level and high-level design with the ability to propose and validate system design.
• You are comfortable jamming on code refactoring, architecture and design principles.
• Sound understanding of web technologies (JS, HTML5 CSS), databases - SQL & NoSQL (e.g. Cassandra), distributed caches (e.g. Redis), message queues (e.g. Kafka).
• Knowledge of UI architectural patterns like MVVM, MVC, MVP etc is useful.
• Exposure to android app development is a good plus.
• You have working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Gradle, GIT, Jenkins, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana or equivalents.
• You are an opensource enthusiast with the curiosity to stay abreast of latest tech.
• Must be comfortable working in fast paced agile environments. Ability to plan, prioritise, estimate and execute releases with strong degree of predictability.
• Excellent people & communication skills.
• Experience with AWS stack is preferred.
• Experience with a high-growth startup is a plus.

  Your profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or engineering with strong communication skills.
• 4+ years of experience building large-scale software applications or web applications
• Strong knowledge of Full-Stack development with Java Spring Framework and established web frameworks Bootstrap, Vue.js, React or AngularJS.
• Experience of different data stores and search engine solutions like Apache Solr or Elasticsearch and designing and implementing API web services (RESTful and SOAP-based)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment whiles providing operational support capability.
