Software Developer Intern

Job Description:

• Strong proficiency with JavaScript / Core Java and other related technologies.
• Expertise in developing models and scalable Microservices components.

Good to have:

• Knowledge of Databases such as MySQL, DB2, Oracle and etc. (at least one)
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as HTML5, and CSS3

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Developing and maintaining scalable APIs using Node.js
• Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
• Integrating user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic
• Designing and implementing low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications
• Implementing security and data protection measures
• Integrating data storage solutions (MongoDB, MySQL, etc.)
• Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages

• Designing the Mobile Application for our product offering
• Communicating effectively in a cross-functional product development team and present ideas and designs effectively.
• Identifying and correcting bottlenecks and fixing bugs
• Helping maintain code quality, organization, and automatization

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience
2. 2+ years of practical experience in Native Android Development
3. 2+ years of experience using Kotlin/Java
4. Experience developing highly performant code and view layouts and the ability to diagnose performance bottlenecks
5. Designing applications with latest frameworks and architecture such as MVVM, etc.
6. An excellent understanding of best practices for concurrency and threading is a big plus
7. A disciplined approach to development, testing, documentation and code structure in a team environment
8. A constant desire to improve, learn more and take things higher
9. Having worked with the Realm database and dagger is a big plus.

Required Skill Set: Android SDK, Java, Kotlin, and Agile environment.

Job Description:

1) 3-5 year’s experience developing applications software.

2) Demonstrated expertise with the Android SDK, at least 4 years work experience on Android.

3) Experience using RESTful APIs to integrate mobile applications to server-side systems

4) Experience with the infotainment system.

5) Good understanding of software development best practices.

6) Worked on embedded devices and changing the framework of android apps.

7) Experience working in an agile environment.

8) Working knowledge of SCM with a strong emphasis on Git and proper Git Flow.

9) Must reference at least one application you developed that is available today

10) Decent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code
• Design, build and maintain high performance, reusable, and reliable Java code
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization

Skills

• Good understanding of MVVM architecture
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
• Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
• Ability to design applications around natural user interfaces, such as “touch”
• Familiarity with the use of additional sensors, such as gyroscopes and accelerometers
• Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
• A knack for benchmarking and optimization
• Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
