Software Architect

Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Software Developer to automate our internal workflows, develop tools for internal use that are used by our development team.

We follow the following practices: unit testing, continuous integration CI, continuous deployment CD, and DevOps.

We have codebases in go, java, python, vue js, bash and support the development team that develops C code.

You need to like challenges, explore new fields and find solutions for problems.

You will be responsible for coordinating, automating, and validating internal workflows and ensuring operational stability, and system reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years in professional software development
• Solid understanding of software development patterns like SOLID, GoF or similar.
• Experience automating deployments for different kinds of applications.
• Strong understanding of Git version control, merge/rebase strategies, tagging.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and deployment orchestration (e.g., docker compose).
• Solid scripting experience (bash, or similar).
• Understanding of observability, monitoring, and probing tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, blackbox exporter).

Preferred Skills

• Experience in SRE
• Proficiency in CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab).
• Familiarity with build tools like Make, CMake, or similar.
• Exposure to artifact management systems (e.g., aptly, Artifactory, Nexus).
• Experience deploying to Linux production systems with service uptime guarantees.

Responsibilities

• Develop new services that are needed by SRE, Field or Development Team by adopting unit testing, agile, clean code practices.
• Drive the CI/CD pipeline and maintain the workflows, using tools such as GitLab, Jenkins
• Deploy the services and implement and refine the automation for different environments.
• Operate: The services that the SRE Team developed.
• Automate release pipelines: Build and maintain CI/CD workflows using tools such as Jenkins and GitLab.
• Version control: Manage and enforce Git best practices, branching strategies (e.g., Git Flow), tagging, and release versioning.
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, QA, and product teams to align on release timelines and feature readines

• Achieve >99% service up time with minimal rollbacks.
• Delivery in time, hold timelines.

Requirements:

• B Tech/M Tech in Computer Science or equivalent from a reputed college with a minimum of 4 – 6 years of experience in a Product Development Company
• Sound knowledge and application of algorithms and data structures with space and me complexities
• Strong design skills involving data modeling and low-level class design
• Good knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns
• Proficiency in Python, Java, and Golang
• Follow industry coding standards and be responsible for writing maintainable/scalable/efficient code to solve business problems
• Hands-on experience of working with Databases and the Linux/Unix platform
• Follow SDLC in an agile environment and collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams to drive deliveries
• Strong technical aptitude and good knowledge of CS fundamentals

Requirements

- Strong coding and problem-solving skills

We are now looking for,

Senior SW Developer – IoT Platform Development

to join the team of experts at the KONE Services & Solutions R&D. You will work together with other professionals to develop advanced KONE digital solutions that leverage the latest in cloud and connectivity technologies.

You are a cloud development expert who is passionate about designing and implementing solutions for our connectivity solutions. You are familiar with the software development patterns and can turn the architectural plans to concrete SW designs. You understand and appreciate the modern SW development practices. You work at your best when you are working with people, and you enjoy helping others.

You will work in a key role inside our Agile SW development team. Your closest colleagues will be other developers, test professionals and the PO of the team. You will be part of KONE Technology and Innovation unit’s IoT Tribe.

Main responsibilities include,

• Producing more efficient software designs for new features in our IoT platform tribe
• Developing clean and efficient code based on the specifications.
• Unit and Integration Testing for the developed code and integrate with code coverage tools.
• Verify and deploy programs and systems
• Recommend and execute improvement for the existing offerings from the IoT platform.
• Create technical documentation for reference and reporting.
• Participating in knowledge sharing and demos

To be successful in this role,

• Having a degree in Computer Science or equivalent with minimum 5+ years of relevant working experience.
• More than 3 years proven experience in developing high volume scalable cloud solutions utilizing platforms like Amazon AWS with IoT domain.
• Having hands on development experience with Java, Node JS and TypeScript.
• Experience working with MVC, WEB API, RESTful services with IoT domain

• Team player with capabilities to take the lead and develop own competencies around the core knowledge is a must.
• Understanding of React JS is an added advantage.

• Strong experience with Serverless Cloud Compute Services with AWS or Azure

• Experience in working with AWS platform and its core services like Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, CDK, SQS, S3 etc., or its equivalent Azure services
• Understanding of Serverless design, network security, cloud design patterns, high availability and secure systems.

• Hands on experience with both SQL and No-SQL databases.
• Experience on DevOps ways of working with good understanding on CI/CD

You will be responsible for: 

• Owning the design and delivery of your code from cradle to grave.
• Peer reviewing your team mate’s code
• Being a key player in this client’s Digital Transformation – both implementing changes to existing APIs and developing new ones to integrate with the latest digital stack.
• Developing new and be-spoke features as well as working on large scale integrations 
• Working in an Agile Scrum environment where you will be challenged and motivated 
• Calling out risks if you spot them in a particular approach or design.

Qualifications

Skills Required:

• Technical design experience.
• Hands on Java development experience, in particular with Spring (minimum of 4 years)
• Knowledge of JavaScript and NodeJS is highly desirable
• You will have worked in an Agile Scrum environment and be comfortable with fast-paced Sprint Cycles
• Previous experience building web service API’s is key for this role – Apigee is the preferred technology
• Any experience with Microsoft Azure is a nice to have – this is the direction we are going
