ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team focused on building scalable, secure, and intelligent enterprise software. The ideal candidate is a strong technologist who enjoys coding, mentoring, and driving high-quality software delivery in a fast-paced startup environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers across backend, frontend, and integration areas.
• Drive architectural design, technical reviews, and ensure scalability and reliability.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality releases on time.
• Establish best practices in agile development, testing automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Build reusable frameworks for low-code app development and AI-driven workflows.
• Hire, coach, and develop engineers to strengthen technical capabilities and team culture.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Science from a Tier-1 Engineering College.
• 3+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, with at least 1 year mentoring or managing engineers.
• Strong expertise in backend development (Java / Node.js / Go / Python) and familiarity with frontend frameworks (React / Angular / Vue).
• Solid understanding of microservices, APIs, and cloud architectures (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience building or scaling SaaS or platform-based products.
• Exposure to GenAI/LLM, data pipelines, or workflow automation tools.
• Prior experience in a startup or high-growth product environment.

        As a member of the development group, you will be primarily responsible for the design, development, and maintaining the product.

        Work with the Product and Design teams to build new features to solve business problems and fill business needs.

        Participate in code reviews to create robust and maintainable code.

        Work in an agile environment where quick iterations and good feedback are a way of life.

        Continually look for opportunities to improve our platform, process, and business.

        Communicate and coordinate with our support and professional services teams to solve customer issues.

        Help scale our platform as we expand.

        8+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise software development using J2EE Framework. 

        Experience with React.js, AngularJS, strong knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, HTML5

        Passion for building enterprise web applications leveraging modern architecture principles, strong prior experience as a full stack developer. 

        Expertise with CSS and building responsive pages, with a keen eye for UI design and usability

        Experience with web-accessibility/WCAG standards

        Experience working collaboratively with a globally distributed team.

        Experience with agile methodologies and good exposure to DevOps/CICD models.

        Passion for keeping up with new trends and developments in the programming community and is eager to find ways to incorporate these new ideas into our codebase.

• Minimum 4+ years of experience building Java & React JS/Node JS applications, in a service-based architecture.
• Need hands on current experience on Java 8+, React JS/Node JS and above, Java script, Angular JS, JUnit, XML, Spring, Spring Boot, rest APIs, and SQL. 
• Hands on experience with version control, build integration and messaging technologies.
• Need to demonstrate in-depth understanding of OOO principles, design patterns and threading techniques.
• Strong web Services background required.
• Must be able to interact with all levels of personnel within the organization and be effective with both business and technical teams.
•  Ability to deal with ambiguity and define approaches to bring unfocused issues to resolution
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for managing interactions both within the team and without.

Job Description

The current application landscape features multiple Java web services running on JEE application servers, primarily hosted on AWS, and integrated with various systems such as SAP, other services, and external partners. DPS is committed to delivering the best digital work experience for the customers employees and customers alike.

Responsibilities:

Independent front- and backend implementation of business functionalities, defined as user stories by the customer, considering the cost-value ratio and maintenance effort for the customer 

Implementation of user stories and incidents, including concept, implementation (including automated unit tests), and communication with the customer within the agile development process.

Database activities such as creation or modification of database schema as well as implementation of database access, queries, and data modification 

Interface realization based on standard principles like REST or SOAP

Implementation of given Identity and Access Management Patterns for securing the application

Analysis and resolution of issues (3rd Level Support).

Documentation of the implementation.

Consultancy in technical and business topics within the applications.

Usage of selected tools for implementation, testing, rollout, and support.

Participation in regular meetings with the client to track the status of assigned tasks.

Requirements:

Experience with JEE technologies such as JPA, EJB, CDI, JAAS, and SAML.

Experience in technology related to JEE, like Maven.

Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, Angular, and Bootstrap.

Strong knowledge of SQL.

Experience with web services (SOAP, REST, JSON).
