Job Description :

Join our Backend Engineering team to design and maintain services on the Intuit Data Exchange (IDX) platform.

You'll work on scalable backend systems powering millions of daily transactions across Intuit products.

Key Qualifications :

• 4+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong in Java, Spring framework.
• Experience with microservices, databases, and web applications.
• Proficient in AWS and cloud-based systems.
• Exposure to AI and automation tools (Workato preferred).
• Python development experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Comfortable with occasional US shift overlap.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Rewrite existing APIs in NodeJS. 
• Remodel the APIs into Micro services-based architecture. 
• Implement a caching layer wherever possible. 
• Optimize the API for high performance and scalability. 
• Write unit tests for API Testing.
• Automate the code testing and deployment process.

Skills Required: 

• At least 2.5 years of experience developing Backends using NodeJS — should be well versed with its asynchronous nature & event loop, and know its quirks and workarounds. 
• Excellent hands-on experience using MySQL or any other SQL Database. 
• Good knowledge of MongoDB or any other NoSQL Database. 
• Good knowledge of Redis, its data types, and their use cases. 
• Experience with graph-based databases like GraphQL and Neo4j. 
• Experience developing and deploying REST APIs. 
• Good knowledge of Unit Testing and available Test Frameworks. 
• Good understanding of advanced JS libraries and frameworks. 
• Experience with Web sockets, Service Workers, and Web Push Notifications. 
• Familiar with NodeJS profiling tools. 
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git. 
• Good knowledge of creating and maintaining DevOps infrastructure on cloud platforms. 
• Should be a fast learner and a go-getter — without any fear of trying out new things Preferences. 
• Experience building a large scale social or location-base

Responsibilities

Understand systems enabling third party integration 

Translate business requirements to the APIs and SDKs exposed by these systems. Figure out the optimum interfaces to interact with these. 

Build generic connectors to interact with these technologies. 

Design, implement, deploy and maintain the connectors. 

Minimum Qualifications 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields. 

Experience needs to be around 8+ years 

Strong problem-solving skills. 

Ability to understand the technology and its APIs in quick time. 

Strong design pattern fundamentals. 

Good core java skills like Multi-threading, collection framework. 

Good communication and mentorship skills 

Ability to put together architecture diagrams and designs 

Requirements

• Overall 2-8 years of software development experience in building web-based and highly scalable applications 

• Excellent understanding of core computer science concepts like algorithms, data structure, system design, OOP, etc. 

• Deep knowledge and development expertise in Core Java and SpringBoot or other equivalent frameworks 

• Strong experience in HTML5 and CSS3 and should have basic experience in JS technologies

• Good knowledge of database concepts, having SQL writing experience, and familiarity with at least one of the relational databases

• Worked in a CI/CD environment with Jenkins

• Experience working in an agile team with software engineering practices like automated testing, test-driven development, continuous integration, etc is a big plus. 

• Ability to quickly learn and evaluate new technologies and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

• Strong oral and written communication.

What you bring to the table

• Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science or related
• Experience: 5-9 years of relevant experience for SSE role
• Exposure to microservices, API management tools like Swagger
• Must have experience in working on Agile Scrum teams in the past and exposure to any of the Agile project management tools like Jira, Mingle, RTC, TFS etc.
• Proficient in application log analysis.
• Experience Java/JEE Development - especially EJB 2.1 / 3.0, JDBC
• Experience with application servers such as JBoss AS or IBM WAS is an advantage
• Experience in SQL programing using PostgreSQL / MySQL /Maria DB and JPA (Annotation Based)
• Knowledge of build tools such as Maven or Gradle and of continuous integration tools such as Jenkins, Nexus
• Basic knowledge of web services (SOAP or REST) and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JS)
