Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer for Data Platform 

The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to support scalable, secure, and efficient data and analytics solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of cloud-native technologies, DevOps best practices, and hands-on experience with Azure and Databricks.

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Infrastructure Design & Management

Architect, deploy, and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.

Implement best practices for Azure Resource Management, including resource groups, virtual networks, and storage accounts.

Optimize cloud costs and ensure high availability and disaster recovery for critical systems

Databricks Platform Management

Set up, configure, and maintain Databricks workspaces for data engineering, machine learning, and analytics workloads.

Automate cluster management, job scheduling, and monitoring within Databricks.

Collaborate with data teams to optimize Databricks performance and ensure seamless integration with Azure services.

CI/CD Pipeline Development

Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for deploying infrastructure, applications, and data workflows using tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar.

Automate testing, deployment, and monitoring processes to ensure rapid and reliable delivery of updates.

Monitoring & Incident Management

Implement monitoring and alerting solutions using tools like Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Databricks metrics.

Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues, ensuring minimal downtime.

Security & Compliance

Enforce security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security.

Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards for data protection and cloud operations.

Collaboration & Documentation

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders, to align infrastructure with business needs.

Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure, processes, and configurations.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Must Have Experience:

6+ years of experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering roles.

Proven expertise in Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure Active Directory.

Hands-on experience with Databricks for data engineering and analytics.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep.

Strong scripting skills in Python, or Bash.

Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).

Soft Skills:

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Job Description

• Assessing existing customer systems and/or cloud environment to determine the best migration approach and supporting tools used
• Build a secure and compliant cloud environment, with a proven enterprise operating model, on-going cost optimisation, and day-to-day infrastructure management
• Provide and implement cloud solutions to reduce operational overhead and risk, and automates common activities, such as change requests, monitoring, patch management, security, and backup services, and provides full-lifecycle services to provision, run, and support their infrastructure
• Collaborate with internal service teams to meet the clients’ needs for their infrastructure and application deployments
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure deployments, recreate customer issues, and build proof of concept environments that abide by cloud-best-practices & well architecture frameworks
• Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide unique solutions to our customers’ individual needs
• Work on critical, highly complex customer problems that will span across multiple cloud platforms and services
• Identify and drive improvements on process and technical related issues. Act as an escalation point of contact for the clients
• Drive clients meetings & communication during reviews

Requirement:

• Degree in computer science or a similar field.
• At least 2 year of experience in the field of cloud computing.
• Experience with CI/CD systems.
• Strong in Cloud services
• Exposure to AWS/GCP and other cloud-based infrastructure platforms
• Experience with AWS configuration and management – EC2, S3, EBS, ELB, IAM, VPC, RDS, CloudFront etc
• Exposure in architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on AWS platforms or other cloud server such as Azure, Google Cloud
• Proficient in the use and administration of all versions of MS Windows Server
• Experience with Linux and Windows system administration and web server configuration and monitoring
• Solid programming skills in Python, Java, Perl
• Good understanding of software design principles and best practices
• Good knowledge of REST APIs
• Should have hands-on experience in any deployment orchestration tool (Jenkins, Urbancode, Bamboo, etc.)
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm charts
• Hands on experience in Ansible and Git repositories
• Knowledge in Maven / Gradle
• Azure, AWS, and GCP certifications are preferred.

• Designing and building infrastructure to support AWS, Azure, and GCP-based Cloud services and infrastructure.

Position Overview & Priorities:

The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems and software using Infrastructure as Code. This can include the provision of cloud instances, streamlining deployments, configuring virtual instances, scaling out DB servers.

Primary responsibility would be:

• Oversight of all server environments, from Dev through Production.
• Work on an infrastructure that is 100% on AWS.
• Work on CI/CD tooling which is used to build and deploy code to our cloud.
• Assist with day-to-day issue management.
• Work on internal tooling which simplifies workflows.
• Research, design and implement solutions for fault tolerance, monitoring, performance enhancement, capacity optimization, and configuration management of systems and applications.

Prioritized Experiences and Capabilities:

• 2-4 years of experience working as a DevOps Engineer/currently practicing DevOps methodology
• Experience in AWS Infrastructure
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Cloud Formation / Terraform, Puppet / Chef / Ansible)
• Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration
• DevOps automation with CI/CD, a pipeline that enforces proper versioning and branching practices
• Experience in Docker and Kubernetes.

• 5+ years hands-on experience with designing, deploying and managing core AWS services and infrastructure
• Proficiency in scripting using Bash, Python, Ruby, Groovy, or similar languages 
• Experience in source control management, specifically with Git
• Hands-on experience in Unix/Linux and bash scripting
• Experience building, managing Helm-based build and release CI-CD pipelines for Kubernetes platforms (EKS, Openshift, GKE) 
• Strong experience with orchestration and config management tools such as Terraform, Ansible or Cloudformation
