REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong experience in Backend Engineering, Microservices, and Distributed Systems
• Deep hands-on expertise in Java and Node.js development 
• Strong experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services 
• Strong understanding of OOP, Data Structures, Algorithms, and Software Design Principles 
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar databases 
• Experience with system design, scalability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization
• Experience with Redis, messaging systems, and event-driven architectures
• Hands-on experience with Git, automated testing, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Strong understanding of API security, authentication, and authorization
• Experience with observability, monitoring, and production support
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience with Spring Boot, TypeScript, NestJS, Kafka, and AI-assisted coding tools is preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, microservices, and APIs
• Build high-performance RESTful and event-driven applications
• Own system design, data models, integrations, scalability, and reliability
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver business solutions
• Write clean, secure, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers

• Backend excellence: building high-scale, high-performance systems.
• LLM fine-tuning: hands-on with open-source models, not just calling APIs.

Someone who can sit with a requirement at 2pm and by 6pm not only has endpoints working, but also has a fine-tuned model running behind them — customized to our use case.

Your Craft

• JavaScript/TypeScript & NodeJS as core backend tools.
• Next.js for full-stack where needed.
• Rust when performance is non-negotiable.
• Golang/Python as comfortable tools of choice.
• MySQL/Postgres/Redis — wielded with intention.
• AWS ecosystem — your playground, not your puzzle.
• LLM/AI integration you’ve actually shipped.
• Open-source LLM fine-tuning experience:
• Bringing in open-source models (LLaMA, Mistral, Falcon, etc.).
• Fine-tuning/adapting them for specific domains.
• Optimizing for inference cost, latency, and accuracy.

Minimum 5 years of experience in NestJS and NodeJS backend development.

● Strong expertise in microservices architecture.

● Proficient in working with SQL databases like PostgreSQL or similar.

● Hands-on experience with ORMs (e.g., TypeORM or other popular ORMs).

● Solid understanding of Swagger for API documentation.

● In-depth knowledge of REST API architecture.

● Basic understanding of Docker/containerization tools.

● Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.

● Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.

● Sound knowledge of design patterns and backend best practices.

● System design expertise (a strong plus).

● Basic knowledge of frontend technologies like React or Angular (a plus).

·      Participate in activities that lead up to the code design. This may include activities such as developing prototypes, proof of concept, compare pros and cons of various implementation choices being considered and recommending the most appropriate one.

·      Review critical pieces of code that are developed as per this code design.

·      Ensure that the code being delivered is of the highest quality.
