We are now seeking a detail-oriented HR with experience in the construction industry to support our end-to-end recruitment operations from India. The ideal candidate will help maintain accurate workforce data, streamline candidate onboarding, and ensure our HR systems function efficiently to meet ongoing manpower requirements across multiple UK construction projects.
Purpose of the Role
To support the recruitment and onboarding of skilled and unskilled workers for the UK construction industry, ensuring all candidates are accurately profiled, documented, and compliant with company and statutory requirements. The role involves understanding construction job roles, assisting in end-to-end hiring coordination, and maintaining accurate records across HR systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, screen, and shortlist candidates for construction trades such as steel fixers, shuttering carpenters, concrete finishers, general labourers, machine operators, and site operatives.
- Experience in end-to-end construction recruitment for India-based and overseas roles.
- Build and maintain a strong trade-wise candidate database and update records regularly to track document expiries, visa status, and deployment readiness.
- Coordinate with UK HR, site supervisors, and project managers to plan and fulfil manpower requirements according to project schedules.
- Maintain accurate and updated candidate records within Zoho Recruit and Zoho People, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Understand various construction job profiles and match candidates based on skill level, experience, and project-specific needs.
- Support onboarding activities including document verification, employment letter preparation, and joining formalities.
- Collect, review, and maintain key documentation such as ID proof, qualifications, experience certificates, trade test results, and right-to-work documents.
- Support overseas mobilisation and demobilisation processes by liaising with agencies and logistics partners as required.
- Publish job openings on relevant platforms and coordinate recruitment drives, trade tests, and walk-in interviews.
- Provide administrative support in HR operations, data cleanup, reporting, and process optimisation across recruitment systems.
- Assist in maintaining communication between Indian recruitment partners and UK HR teams to ensure alignment on project staffing needs.
- Ensure all data and recruitment activities comply with internal policies and international labour standards.
- Take care of any other HR or recruitment responsibilities assigned by the supervisor or senior management on a time-to-time basis.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in construction recruitment, preferably for UK, GCC (Middle East), or India-based projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction trades and roles (e.g., steel fixers, shuttering carpenters, scaffolding workers, electricians, plumbers, plant operators, etc.).
- Experience coordinating manpower supply or overseas recruitment for large-scale infrastructure or civil projects.
- Familiarity with Zoho Recruit, Zoho People, or similar HR/recruitment software.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi/Punjabi; ability to coordinate with multi-national teams.
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and data accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with global HR teams.
Desirable Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Prior experience in construction manpower recruitment for India, UK, or Middle East projects.
- Knowledge of India-based construction projects, UK construction workforce requirements, and basic labour law awareness.
Responsibilities
