Position: Android Developer – SD II

Organization: A Funded global healthcare platform connecting doctors, thereby enabling exchange of information on a quick and real time basis, founded in the year 2013.Currently there are 3 lakh doctors using this platform and everyday there are 400 new doctors joining it.A Funded global healthcare platform connecting doctors, thereby enabling exchange of information on a quick and real time basis, founded in the year 2013.Currently there are 3 lakh doctors using this platform and everyday there are 400 new doctors joining it.

The platform promotes exchange of viewpoints, ideas, and information on various medical practices amongst healthcare professionals. This saves both time and money as solutions to several health issues can be accessed on a real time basis. There are 1.3 million registered doctors and 400+ daily publications on its platform and they operate across 16+countries.

Location: Bangalore (Currently Remote, Later you need to relocate)

Roles & Responsibilities

You’re Awesome At -

• Native Android App development (Preferably for a B2C Product)
• Proficiency in various algorithms and data structures.
• Proficiency in Kotlin with at least 1 year of experience in Kotlin.
• Good knowledge of Coroutines, RxJava and JetPack components. JetPack Compose is a bonus.
• Strong experience with REST APIs (Retrofit), storage databases, multi-threading, performance, and memory tuning.
• Deep understanding of android architecture such as MVP and MVVM

Your Academic Qualifications -

BE / BTech in Computer Science preferred. However, if you have good hands-on knowledge of building Android apps, that’s what we are looking for!

You’ll Be Improving & Responsible For –

• A team that is building products used by 300k + doctors every single day.
• Work on Petabyte Scale Streaming Systems - more than 500 million hours of video has been streamed.
• Lead high volume VOD streaming (think of systems as sophisticated as Netflix and Amazon prime).
• Challenge oneself on Security, Scalability and Stability
• Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality.
• Reach out to the open-source community to encourage and help implement mission-critical software fixes

Your Experience Across the Years in the Roles You’ve Played -

2-4 years

Good to have:

• Experience in a test-driven environment
• Application built using Jetpack Components.
• In depth knowledge of handling database and db migration.
• Passion for product quality and attention to details.

• Translate product designs and features into high-quality code within project constraints through diligent planning and attention to detail.
• Design and develop efficient reusable components. Follow SDLC best practices by ensuring coding and testing standards.
• Take the lead to maintain and refactor code and remedy performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with different tech teams, product teams, and QA. Exhibit excellent teamwork and help achieve team goals. Keep key stakeholders informed about progress and problems; avoid surprises.
• Work to architect simple, reliable, and elegant applications. Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
• Identify and communicate improvements to development tools, processes & workflows. Contribute to a collaborative work environment and a culture of ownership.
• Participate in understanding problems for our specific target and finding solutions for them.

• Strong knowledge of Android design principles, patterns, and best practices.
  Good problem-solving skills and verse with OOPs fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and a solid understanding of Android SDK and other components (MVP/MVVM, Architecture components, Jetpack, Dagger, RxJava, Coroutines, Data binding, Retrofit, etc).
• Knowledge of clean architecture and its implementation.
• Proficient with developing apps optimized for different android versions and devices of varying performance.
• Strong system design and architecture skills.
• Experience with multi-threading, memory management, databases.
• Experience in working with REST APIs, JSON, XML, etc.
• Experience/Knowledge of unit testing and integration testing.
• A knack for profiling, performance tuning, and optimization.
  Skills that will give you an edge
• Hands-on experience with supporting payments and integrating payment gateways
• Experience with progressive web apps, service workers
• Strong grasp over frontend unit and end-to-end testing frameworks

What are we looking for?

1. We expect you to have your domain knowledge of Flutter, Dart, Room or Realm DB, BLOC pattern based development, Redux and RX Dart
2. There are few skills which you need to have from get-go:

3. You have the ability to explain your algorithms and solutions and understand how to ask questions with respect to mobile app development and web development scenarios
4. You are a smart and energetic talent from engineering and computer science background 
5. Based on the situations you can contribute individually or work with team and make work productive and fun
6. In terms of day to day work, for 2 years you should have done the following:
1. At least 2 to 3 live projects in Flutter or Native Android or iOS
2. Thorough understanding of Dart programming for mobile application development
3. Writing frontend code with SOLID principle
4. Unit testing of your code with Travis CLI
5. Collaborative development with BitBucket or GIT and handling of code merge conflicts
6. Documenting frontend code 
7. Knowledge of Android native and iOS native is a plus
8. Proficient in Linux,  and understanding of Ubuntu OS
9. Knowledge on Firebase or Firestore is a plus

2. Working days - 6 days a week
