Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer to release high quality software solutions. You’ll be part of a cross-functional team that’s responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. Your primary responsibilities will include working closely with the tech team and the product manager, designing testing strategies, automated and manual testing for mobile and web modules of the product. It is an individual contributor role wherein the person would work with a small but highly competitive and effective team.

Responsibilities:

• Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases for web and mobile applications.
• Execute test cases as per Test plans.
• Design, write & execute functional and regression tests.
• Evaluate, troubleshoot and test software.
• Ensure delivery of extremely high quality products to end customers.
• Adopt and adhere to QA processes.
• Run non-functional tests using automated tools.

Requirements:

• 1 to 3 years of work experience as a Quality assurance engineer.
• Hands-on experience in Web, Mobile & API testing.
• Experience using API management tools like Postman.
• Exceptional analytical skills.
• Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.
• Prior experience working in a product based startup would be preferred.
• BE/BTech Computers, MSc/MCA or similar.

• Perform various types of testing like sanity, functional, exploratory, integration, and system testing to ensure that the product delivered is of high quality.
• Support the Planning of test schedules in accordance with project scope/delivery dates and ensure that the timelines are adhered to without fail.
• Have very good knowledge of SDLC and STLC life cycles and working knowledge in agile.
• Work as part of cross-functional, passionate agile project teams to ensure quality is driven into the heart of the development process from requirements definition through to delivery.
• Contributing toward predictable delivery of quality releases.
• Be meticulous about documentation and maintaining a robust log of all test cases and test results.
• Very good at manual testing of web and windows based applications, web services testing, and integration testing of a complex system, iOS and Android applications.
• Defect Tracking and Reporting of bugs to developers so as to fix it and follow-ups.
• Lesson Learnt documents (based on testing inputs from the previous project)
• Suggestion Documents (to improve software quality)
• Leads test processes and delivers results to necessary stakeholders.
• Reviews changes or upgrades to existing tests, tools, and testing protocols.
• Good to have knowledge over Stockbroking applications, financial and capital market domain.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of any Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools like Jira or similar bug tracking tools - MUST
• An ability to rapidly grasp and apply complex business and technical concepts
• An ability to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent English Speaker - MUST
• Technical English writing in high level
• At least 2 Years and a maximum of 7 years of manual testing experience on web application
• Knowledge in SQL basic queries
• Knowledge in testing REST APIs
• Certification of ISTQB

• Review requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
• Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
• Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities
• Design test cases based on the use cases and considering various quality aspects.
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
• Perform in-depth and thorough testing of the owned features/areas.
• Maintain the test cases and test results in test management system.
• Maintain the defects in defect Management system.
• Plan and realise the test environment, platforms, test cycles and regression cycles based on the strategy and quality evaluation at different stages of the product.
• Keep updated on the latest testing and domain technologies, test coverage methodologies and quality metrics.
• Develop skills on automation and testing tools.
• Should guide junior members in performing their activities effectively and help them develop technical skills.

• BE/B-Tech/BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
• Should have at least 4 years of relevant experience in QA.
• Proven working experience in software quality assurance
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
• Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
• Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools is a plus
• Knowledge of SQL and scripting is big plus
