What We’re Looking For

•  Looking for a Python Lead with 5 to 8 years of experience who can design, architect, and build secure, scalable, production-grade backend systems.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python with strong hands-on experience in Django or Flask.
• Experience with RESTful API design and Websockets.
• Must have a solid foundation in design patterns, algorithms, and data structures.
• Advanced database skills across PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Well-versed in caching systems like Redis.
• Experience with queuing systems like RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Experience with container-based deployments using Docker.
• Proficient in cloud platforms — specifically AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda) and GCP (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions).
• Experience setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
• Strong command of Git, Linux, and version control workflows.
• Preferred: Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts.
• Preferred: Hands-on experience with RAG pipelines.
• Preferred: Experience with LLM integrations.
• Preferred: Experience with Vector Databases such as Pinecone or ChromaDB.
• Builder mindset with ownership from idea to production.
• Writes clean and well-tested code.
• Comfortable mentoring junior developers in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Must be based in India — open to working from Coimbatore or fully remote.

Job Description

We are looking for a Backend Engineer with strong Python skills and hands-on exposure to AI-based applications. The candidate will be responsible for developing scalable backend services and supporting AI-powered systems such as LLM integrations, AI agents, and RAG pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Python (FastAPI preferred)
• Build and manage RESTful APIs for frontend and AI integrations
• Support development of AI-driven features (LLMs, RAG systems, AI agents)
• Design and maintain both monolithic and microservices architectures
• Optimize database performance and backend scalability
• Work with DevOps for Docker-based deployments

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Python backend development
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI / Django / Flask
• Knowledge of REST APIs and microservices
• Experience with AI applications (LLM usage, prompt engineering basics)
• Database knowledge: MongoDB, PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Experience with Docker and basic cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)

Good to Have

• Experience integrating payment gateways (Razorpay, Stripe, PayU, etc.)

Founder & Team

The founder is Shariq Plasticwala. He is a graduate of IIT Bombay & Stanford GSB. He was part of the founding team of Amazon India where he played a key role for over 8 years. Among his roles at Amazon, he was the CEO of Amazon’s first joint venture in India and a Board Member of Amazon’s payments business. The other members of the founding team consisted of senior executives from Shiamak Davar & Byju’s.

Background

•   At least 6+ years experience in back-end development in a fast-paced environment, working in Python & Django Framework
• Should Have experience leading a team.
•   Deep understanding of technologies used in web products, including Rest APIs
•   Sound understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
•   Deep familiarity with UNIX, major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), DevOps.
•   Understanding of databases, and related tools, paradigms.

Opportunity

•   Developing APIs and endpoints for deployments of our product.

• 3-5 Years of experience in Backend Development.
