Python Developer

Job Summary:

Deqode is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Python + AWS Developer to join our growing technology team. This role demands hands-on experience in backend development, cloud infrastructure (AWS), containerization, automation, and client communication. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with a strong technical foundation and a passion for delivering high-quality, scalable solutions in a client-facing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy backend services and APIs using Python.
• Build and maintain scalable infrastructure on AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.).
• Automate deployments and infrastructure with Terraform and Jenkins/GitHub Actions.
• Implement containerized environments using Docker and manage orchestration via Kubernetes.
• Write automation and scripting solutions in Bash/Shell to streamline operations.
• Work with relational databases like MySQL and SQL, including query optimization.
• Collaborate directly with clients to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.
• Ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability across environments.

Required Skills:

• 3.5+ years of hands-on experience in Python development.
• Strong expertise in AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch.
• Good understanding of Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Proficient with Docker and container orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Strong command of SQL/MySQL and scripting with Bash/Shell.
• Experience working with external clients or in client-facing roles.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Developer or DevOps Engineer).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

This person MUST have:

• B.E Computer Science or equivalent
• 5 years experience with the Django framework
• Experience with building APIs (REST or GraphQL) 
• Strong Troubleshooting and debugging skills
• React.js knowledge would be an added bonus 
• Understanding on how to use a database like Postgres (prefered choice), SQLite, MongoDB, MySQL.
• Sound knowledge of object-oriented design and analysis.
• A strong passion for writing simple, clean and efficient code.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools Git.
• Strong communication skills.

Experience:

• Min 5 year experience
• Startup experience is a must. 

Location:

• Remote developer

Timings:

• 40 hours a week but with 4 hours a day overlapping with client timezone.  Typically clients are in California PST Timezone.

We are looking for a Backend Developer who has 4-6 years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing backend services using Python and Django.

- Responsibilities-

- Design highly scalable, testable code and follow Test Driven Development methodology 

- Able to write well-organized, modularised code with test cases.

- Contribute to the design and architecture of our backend APIs and deployment of microservices

- Ensure adherence to engineering best practices and maintain the overall quality of our codebase.

- Work with the product team to translate powerful ideas into everyday business value.

- Skills-

- Back-end programming language: Python

- Familiarity with Django or Flask framework

- Familiarity with AWS and Elastic Search

- Experience in SQL and NoSQL databases with an insight into various data modeling use cases

- Experience with system & unit testing

- Familiarity with containerized deployment

- Proficiency with Git

- Sound with data structures and algorithms and have a good understanding of design patterns, software architectures

• B Tech/BE or M.Tech/ME in Computer Science or equivalent from a reputed college.
• Experience level of 7+ years in building large scale applications.
• Strong problem solving skills, data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with distributed systems handling large amount of data.
• Excellent coding skills in Java / Python / Node / Go.
• Very good understanding of Web Technologies.
• Very good understanding of any RDBMS and/or messaging.

Roles and responsibilities

• Develop well-designed performant and scalable applications and microservices
• Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code aligning to software development best practices
• Integrate data storage solutions including databases, key-value stores, blob stores, etc.
• Build integrations with 3rd party applications through apis’ to ingest and process data
• Develop state-of-the-art analytics tools to support diverse tasks ranging from ad hoc analysis to production-grade pipelines and workflows for customer applications
• Ensure security and data protection aspects within the applications
• Partner with Data Scientists and Analytics Engineers to improve the performance and reliability of advanced algorithms
• Ensure high performance and availability of distributed systems and applications
• Interact directly with client project team members and operational staff to support live customer deployments and production issues

• 4+ years of experience in developing applications using python and related technologies.
• Familiarity in data ingestion and processing libraries in python.
• Thorough understanding of REST and GRPC technologies.
• Experience in using ORM (Object Relational Mapper) libraries for data access.
• Experiencing in developing and hosting APIs and integration with external applications.
• Experience in building data models and repositories using relational and NoSql databases.
• Knowledge of JIRA, Bitbucket and agile methodologies.
• Good to have knowledge of AWS services like Lambda, dynamodb, kinesis and others.
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Familiarity with event-driven programming
• Strong unit test and debugging skills
• Affinity for learning and applying new technologies and solving new problems
• Effective organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Experience in working with docker is a plus
