Job Title: Lead Backend Engineer

About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on QA leader to own quality across our products. You'll set the QA strategy, build and scale our automation and testing infrastructure, and lead a growing team — while staying close enough to the work to dig into a tricky bug yourself. This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants to define how quality is done, not just execute test cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 5-6 backend engineers, ensuring high-quality code delivery, adherence to best practices, and timely project completion.
• Hands-on development using TypeScript, Node.Js, and NestJs to build robust and scalable backend systems.
• Proficient in managing databases PostgreSQL and MongoDB. Implement efficient data storage and retrieval strategies.
• Expertise in Elasticsearch
• Work with Neptune and Gremlin to handle complex data structures and relationships.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and maintain high-quality software.
• Work closely with frontend teams, designers, and product managers to ensure seamless integration and alignment with business goals.
• Plan, track, and report on project progress. Manage resources effectively to meet deadlines.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Node.Js, PostgreSQL and JavaScript
• Strong experience in architecture and database design.
• Proven experience leading a team of engineers.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Proven experience in scaling backend.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Prior experience in a similar lead role.

Good to have

• Experience with Gremlin, Neptune, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, TypeScript, and BigQuery
• Familiarity with AWS and its cloud-based services

Required Skills:

• Experience in implementing Object-Oriented Python, Django.
• Good understanding on Django
• Experienced in interfacing with *third party API’s using REST
• Worked with varieties of Relational Databases (RDBMS) like SQLite, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
• Experience in Version Control with Git and Bitbucket.
• Experience with JIRA the development progress and tracking deadlines of the project

Senior (Lead) .NET Developer Responsibilities: -

Interface with product owners and software architects to review and finalize requirements

- Participate in the full SDLC including analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support of new features and applications

- Actively lead and participate in agile ceremonies (Standups, Refinements, Retrospectives, Planning, and Requirement’s discussions)

- Communicate effectively, clearly, and thoroughly with the Scrum Team and Stakeholders - Provide innovative solutions to complex problems

- Design, develop and modify software applications/systems according to specifications

- Develop technical documentation including services, object, and data model

- Create high quality code and perform code reviews

- Create unit and integration tests to ensure the code quality and functionality

- Proactively learn and share knowledge of technology and compare advantages and disadvantages of alternative solutions/technologies

- Identify areas needing process improvements and see them through to resolution

- Support and coach other Developers, provide technical guidance

- Help onboard new team members

Job Type: Full-time

Have an experience building backend server side applications in Node.js and Express.js

Have in-depth knowledge and experience of using ES6+ features and Object Oriented Principles

Have sound knowledge and are familiar with databases like MongoDb - (Preferred) and Mysql.

Have good exposure to cloud native technologies (AWS Lambda, S3, RDS, etc) 

Have working knowledge of version control (Git) and continuous deployment 

Have experience in optimising backend API’s and database queries for optimal performance.

You are good at problem solving and have analytical skills 

You are flexible in adapting new technologies and frameworks as per the projects needs
