Python Developer

• Proficient knowledge of Django and Django REST framework 
• Experience and good understanding of Redis
• Good knowledge and understanding of PostgreSQL or other relational databases 
• Proficient in NoSQL document databases especially MongoDB. 
• Understanding of threading and multiprocessing in Python, and multi-process architecture 
• Good-enough understanding of version control systems like Git or Mercurial 
• Strong unit-test and debugging skills 
• Knowledge of container technologies (specially Docker) and orchestration systems is a plus 
• Strong understanding of various Python Libraries, APIs, and toolkits
• Excellent understanding of MVC and OOP

Responsibilities:

● Collaborate with a team of developers, designers, and product managers to design, develop, and maintain web applications using Python and Django frameworks.

● Write efficient, reusable, and scalable code following best practices and coding standards.

● Develop and integrate RESTful APIs for seamless data exchange between front-end and back-end systems.

● Design and implement database models and optimize database performance.

● Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, consistency, and security.

● Identify and troubleshoot issues, debug and resolve software defects in a timely manner.

● Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.

● Develop and maintain technical documentation related to the projects you are working on.

Requirements:

● Good knowledge of Python with knowledge of Python web framework Django

● Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git

● Knowledge of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL).

● Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for early members of our India team. You will be part of the team that establishes our India product development team. We are looking for candidates who have high potential, are excited about tackling the climate change problem and are excited to grow in a high-growth environment while working with the Singapore HQ.

A junior/mid-level backend software engineer. Must be comfortable to work in a small development team and have the initiative to work alone on smaller problem sets. Must be passionate about climate-tech for a better future.

• Build backend server applications using Flask/DJango framework
• Collaborate with the data team to integrate data pipelines into our backend system.
• Collaborate with the front end team.
• Analyze processes and code to troubleshoot problems and identify areas of improvement.
• Participating in continuing education and training to remain current on best practices, learn new programming languages, and better assist other team members.
• Take lead on projects, as needed.
