Principal Engineer - UI/UX

As a Frontend Engineer with a focus on Next.js and React, you will focus on fixing UI bugs and building new features

Position: Frontend Engineer (Next.js/React)

Location: Hyderabad

Type: Part-time, Remote

Responsibilities:

• Develop user-facing features and components using Next.js and React
• Optimize existing components
• Update packages
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks and troubleshoot UI issues

Qualifications:

Proficiency in Next.js and React.js is a must

Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+)

Experience working with RESTful APIs and GraphQL

Familiarity with version control systems such as Git

Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, MobX) is a plus

Knowledge of build tools like Webpack and Babel

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an agile environment

Job Requirements:

You’ll thrive as a Front End Developer at StoryXpress if you:

• Have a good understanding of the core fundamentals of JavaScript
• Have 2+ years designing and implementing rich front-end experiences in React
• Are an expert in web technologies ( HTML5 | CSS3 | ES6 )
• Possess a thorough understanding of the MVC principle and JS design patterns
• Have experience with building user interfaces consuming data from REST APIs

You don’t feel annoyed if required to work on off days in case of production incidents (no development).

Your responsibilities:

We have three portals for different types of users and they are written in Angular. Your primary responsibility will be to provide impeccable user experience to the users on all forms of devices. You will be leading the effort of overhaul of one of the portals which we want to partly rewrite. Your Angular, JavaScript and design skills will matter the most here. Apart from this, you will be involved in all design discussions and code reviews and expected to give your inputs to ensure the best frontend development practices are followed. You will support your team members when they are facing challenges, and mentor them when appropriate.

Must-have Skills:

• 4-8 years of total experience
• 2+ years of experience in Angular. You must be pro at it. The team will be looking up to you for making most out of Angular.
• Extensive programming experience in HTML5, CSS3, SASS or LESS, and Bootstrap
• Excellent Javascript knowledge and programming experience with ES5/ES6 and TypeScript
• Experience consuming REST APIs
• Responsive design methodologies and techniques

Good-To-Have Skills:

• Experience with UI testing and automation frameworks
• Experience of Chart.js
• Experience of ReactJS

• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, CSS preprocessors, JavaScript, Object-oriented programming (OOPS), Design patterns, Web principles, and UI Libraries like Bootstrap.

• Strong skills in JavaScript frameworks and libraries (React).  

• Understanding of UX research and design processes.

• Expert in REST web services.

• Understanding of providing optimum web performance.

• Experience using repositories, build & deploy tools like git and Jenkins.

• Experienced with modern JavaScript coding, testing, debugging, and automation techniques

• Experience in unit test formation and understanding of jest enzyme and snapshot testing.

• Experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux)

• Demonstrable experience with React State management - Redux-Saga and popular React.js workflows

• Experience with data structure libraries (e.g., Immutable.js)

• Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.

• Excellent knowledge of React hooks.

• The UI developer will produce robust front end for advanced financial banking and trading applications connecting with server side using micro services
• 3+ years of relevant experience in front end development using React.JS.
• Strong knowledge of Web development technologies, including HTML5, CSS3 etc
• Should have a knowledge of java script libraries like ag-grid, datagrid, chart js, D3 js etc
• Strong experience in developing UI applications showing large amount of data in grid format.
• Must have good experience of testing frameworks like mocha/chai, jasmine etc. for React JS.
• Excellent knowledge of Java and spring, with experience of use in a professional environment
