Node JS. Backend Developer

Key Responsibilities:

·      Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable software solutions

·      Work extensively with AWS Serverless services such as Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB

·      Implement and optimize Elasticsearch for search and analytics

·      Build backend services using NodeJS and develop front-end applications using Angular

·      Design and develop robust REST APIs with a solid understanding of web services

·      Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in JavaScript and TypeScript

·      Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve performance issues in complex systems

·      Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, end-to-end software solutions

Required Skills & Qualifications:

·      Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

·      8+ years of experience in software development

·      Strong hands-on expertise in AWS Serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB) or .NET with SQL

·      Experience with Elasticsearch for efficient data retrieval and indexing

·      Proficiency in NodeJS, Angular, JavaScript, and TypeScript

·      Solid understanding of REST APIs and web services

·      Strong UI development skills with CSS

·      Proven experience designing solutions for complex technical requirements

·      Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving abilities

Must haves

• Experience in building application server in Java (Spring / Spring boot) / NodeJS / Golang / Python
• Experience in using SQL databases and designing schemas based on application need
• Experience with container services and runtimes (docker / docker-compose / k8s)
• Experience with cloud paas (AWS / GCP / Azure cloud)
• Experience and familiarity with microservices’ concepts
• Experience with bash scripting

Good to have (Preferred)

• Preferred experience with org wide message queue (rabbitmq / aws sqs)
• Preferred experience with task orchestration services (apache airflow / aws step function)
• Preferred experience with infra as code (or system configuration) tools (terraform / chef / ansible)
• Preferred experience with build essential tools (make / makefile)
• Preferred experience with monitoring and tracing systems for performance / system / application monitoring (grafana + loki + prometheus / aws cloudwatch)

• You would be directly working with the co-founder & CTO who has built multiple companies before and has built large teams in large-scale companies like ThoughtSpot, Unacademy, etc.

Position details

• Fully remote.
• 5 days/week (all public and government holidays will be non-working days).
• No specific work hours (we will sync over zoom over the course of the day).

Requirements:

• At least 4+ years of experience as a Node.js developer.
• Must have knowledge of at least one card game with rules.
• Must have experience in multiplayer games with Socket.io
• Must have good communication skills in English.
• Superb interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
• Great organizational and time management skills.
• Knowledge of Game development life cycle.
• Must be willing to do hands-on coding where required and perform regular code reviews etc.
• Knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, NPMs, ExpressJS, MongoDB, Socket.io and Redis.
• Familiarity with AWS infrastructure.
• Basic knowledge of front-end technologies.
• Strong understanding of git.

·       3+ yrs of experience in product development (Preferring SaaS based)

·       Must have experience in Java web-based application development

·       Hands on development experience on Java/J2EE, Springboot, Spring, Struts, Hibernate, REST Services

·       Experience on HTML, JavaScript, JQuery

·       Hands on experience on database-writing queries/procedures

·       Experience on SVN,GIT,

·       Knowledge of Server configuration

·       Knowledge of cloud preferably AWS

Good to Have Skills:

• 3+ years of experience in using Java/J2EE tech stacks
• Good understanding of data structures and algorithms.

• Experience in technical mentorship/coaching is highly desirable.
• Understanding of AI/ML algorithms is a plus.

• You’ve been building web applications professionally for 4+ years
• You’re proficient in NodeJS, TypeScript, MySQL, and MongoDB
• You possess strong OOP and design pattern knowledge
• Familiar with modern engineering practices: Code Reviews, Continuous Deployment, Automated Testing, etc
• You write understandable, testable code with an eye towards maintainability and experience with TDD (Test Driven Development)
• You have the ability to build RESTful APIs
• Explaining complex technical concepts to designers, support team, and fellow engineers is not a problem for you
• Well versed with the fundamentals of computer science and distributed systems
• Frontend experience; (Good to have) Angular
• Start-up experience, preferably a tech start-up
• Open-Source contributor
• You have experience with other programming languages -- e.g., Python, Ruby, PHP, Go, C, etc.
• Passionate about/experienced with open source and developer tools
