Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented Android Framework Engineer to join our development team at Primebook. As an android framework developer, you would be responsible for development, coding, testing and debugging of system features and system apps of PrimeOS, driving technical excellence, and shaping the direction of our products. You will work closely with our CTO to create cutting-edge features that meet user needs and business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand product requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
• Create secure and high-quality production level code that runs well with different android versions and devices with different screen sizes.
• Development and debugging of android framework components like SystemUI, PhoneWindowManager, Settings database etc.
• Should be capable of developing applications from scratch, debug and fix issues quickly when they are found.
• Collaborate with various teams (Product, Design & Testing) to develop and ship new features.
• Should be able to write scalable and efficient code for handling the load of 100k+ users.
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application, good knowledge of threads in android is necessary.
• Excellent debugging skills, including identifying memory leaks, performance bottlenecks, and using tools like ADB, proguard, etc

Qualifications:

• A “Bring It On” attitude; bias for action; self-driven, end-to-end ownership; entrepreneurial approach; focus on operational excellence; ability to work with ambiguity.
• B.tech degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 3-5 years of experience with portfolio of work to show the skill set
• Should have developed at-least 2-3 android apps from scratch
• Experience in compiling AOSP and solving common build errors is a must have
• Should have experience working with SystemUI and android framework_base
• Excellent knowledge of Java, Kotlin, MVVM architecture
• Experience with popular libraries (Jetpack, Retrofit, Glide, OkHttp, Gson etc.)
• Experience with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to backend services
• Must be good at building logics and working with data structures

What you will be working on: 

• You will be working on the next generation network security products, on various public clouds. 
• In addition to development, you will also get your hands involved in the architectural changes while fixing the legacy issues. 
• Planning, designing, integration for network security platforms. 

• Key contributor for developing product strategies and features. 
• You will work on hardcore data networking/forwarding areas while acquiring in depth knowledge in DPDK and VPP.

You would be part of:

1. Designing/Improvement of new/existing architectures of distributed computing with subcomponents of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).
2. Working/Researching with industrial state of the art sensor systems and modules, and developing drivers (HAL or wrapper) and applications around their usage.
3. Design and implementation of communication protocols between different subcomponents of UAS for distributed computing.
4. Writing Applications and Drivers from the scratch for (embedded)linux based systems.
5. Scripting and automations around work flows of UAS usage.

Software Engineer(Layer 2/Layer 3)

Location : Gurgaon (WFH currently)

Experience/ Skills Required : 5 to 10 years

To be successful in this role you should be well versed with the concepts of networking and comfortable in C programming in a linux environment for embedded software. As we use Linux, experience with this operating system is a mandatory requirement, knowledge and experience on OpenWrt is a bonus.  Working experience with router software development for layer 3 and layer 4 features.

Domain knowledge required: IPv4, TCP/UDP, IPv6, NAT, Firewall (iptables), DHCPv4, DHCPv6, IPv6 prefix delegation, Port forwarding, Source based routing, Policy based routing, L3 QoS, IGMP proxy, IPv6 MLD snooping, DNS, DNS proxy. Knowledge on VoIP is a bonus. 

Management methods: TR069, SNMPv2, CLI.    

Operating system: Linux, OpenWrt  

Programming languages: C(must have), Python

Role:

As a Software Engineer you develop new software features and solutions for our fibre connectivity product portfolio. The position offers a wide range of possibilities to work with everything from low-level Linux drivers to high-level applications. You develop for various protocols and HW interfaces, often in complex network scenarios in combination with customer specific requirements. The team is responsible for all SW development for existing and new Home Gateways. This means development of Linux drivers, network functionality, remote Management (TR-069) and VoIP application (sipapp). The development is mainly done in C and in Linux environment, knowledge in Python is an add-on. Products and development are realized in Agile.
