Job Summary :

We are looking for a highly skilled Full Stack Developer (React + Node.js) with strong expertise in both frontend and backend development.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate hands-on experience with databases, excellent project understanding, and the ability to deliver scalable, high-performance applications in production environments.

Mandatory Skills :

React.js, Node.js, PostgreSQL/MySQL, JavaScript (ES6+), Docker, AWS/GCP, full-stack development, production system experience, and strong project understanding with hands-on database expertise.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and deploy robust full-stack applications using React (frontend) and Node.js (backend).
• Exhibit a deep understanding of database design, optimization, and integration using PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Translate project requirements into efficient, maintainable, and scalable technical solutions.
• Build clean, modular, and reusable components following SOLID principles and industry best practices.
• Manage backend services, APIs, and data-driven functionalities for large-scale applications.
• Work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure smooth end-to-end project delivery.
• Use Docker and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) for containerization, deployment, and scaling of services.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and troubleshooting production issues.

Required Skills :

• 5+ Years of hands-on experience in full-stack development using React and Node.js.
• Strong understanding and hands-on expertise with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
• Solid grasp of JavaScript (ES6+), and proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) or Functional Programming (FP).
• Proven experience working with production-grade systems and scalable architectures.
• Proficiency with Docker, API development, and cloud services (preferably AWS or GCP).
• Excellent project understanding, problem-solving ability, and strong communication skills (verbal and written).

Good to Have :

• Experience in Golang or Elixir for backend development.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Redis, RabbitMQ, or similar distributed tools.
• Exposure to AI APIs and tools.
• Contributions to open-source projects.

You will:

• Collaborate with the I-Stem Voice AI team and CEO to design, build and ship new agent capabilities
• Develop, test and refine end-to-end voice agent models (ASR, NLU, dialog management, TTS)
• Stress-test agents in noisy, real-world scenarios and iterate for improved robustness and low latency
• Research and prototype cutting-edge techniques (e.g. robust speech recognition, adaptive language understanding)
• Partner with backend and frontend engineers to seamlessly integrate AI components into live voice products
• Monitor agent performance in production, analyze failure cases, and drive continuous improvement
• Occasionally demo our Voice AI solutions at industry events and user forums

You are:

• An AI/Software Engineer with hands-on experience in speech-centric ML (ASR, NLU or TTS)
• Skilled in building and tuning transformer-based speech models and handling real-time audio pipelines
• Obsessed with reliability: you design experiments to push agents to their limits and root-cause every error
• A clear thinker who deconstructs complex voice interactions from first principles
• Passionate about making voice technology inclusive and accessible for diverse users
• Comfortable moving fast in a small team, yet dogged about code quality, testing and reproducibility

What You Need: 

✅ Strong experience in backend development using Python (Django, Flask, or FastAPI). 

✅ Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud services (Azure Functions, App Services, AKS, CosmosDB, etc.). 

✅ Experience leading a development team and managing projects. 

✅ Expertise in designing and managing APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures. 

✅ Strong database experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or CosmosDB. 

✅ Knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes. 

✅ Ability to develop Proof of Concepts (POCs) and evaluate new technology solutions. 

✅ Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. 

• Be responsible for engineering road map, architecture and scalability/quality of products.
• Effectively collaborate with Product managers, Business teams to develop long-term product roadmap and own release planning - in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Perform well in ambiguous situations. We are a startup with a significant product suite.
• Mentor and guide a team of engineers across various levels and areas of expertise. Help engineers make good architectural decisions, improve code quality and delivery.
• Be responsible for tech solutioning, architecture being deployed maintaining right balance b/w short term and long term outcomes – speed vs quality.
• Establish strong engineering best practices and champion their adoption.
• Define career trajectory for your team and share feedback regularly to help them grow.

• 7+ years of experience in end to end cloud software development with exposure in building scalable, fault tolerant and secure large scale distributed systems. At least 1-2 years managing eng. teams.
• Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering (preferably computer science or sister branches) from a reputed institute (preferably IITs, NITs, or other top engineering institutes).
• Deep expertise in Java & tech stack (Springboot) & micro service based architecture writing maintainable, scalable, unit-tested code. This position requires a good mix of hands-on and people management.
• Hands-on experience in low-level and high-level design with the ability to propose and validate system design.
• You are comfortable jamming on code refactoring, architecture and design principles.
• Sound understanding of web technologies (JS, HTML5 CSS), databases - SQL & NoSQL (e.g. Cassandra), distributed caches (e.g. Redis), message queues (e.g. Kafka).
• Knowledge of UI architectural patterns like MVVM, MVC, MVP etc is useful.
• Exposure to android app development is a good plus.
• You have working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Gradle, GIT, Jenkins, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana or equivalents.
• You are an opensource enthusiast with the curiosity to stay abreast of latest tech.
• Must be comfortable working in fast paced agile environments. Ability to plan, prioritise, estimate and execute releases with strong degree of predictability.
• Excellent people & communication skills.
• Experience with AWS stack is preferred.
• Experience with a high-growth startup is a plus.

• Must have done projects either at work or in college using these technical skills

• Overall should have a good go-getter attitude and willing to work in a Start-up environment.

What You'll Do

Maintain and extend existing payment modules, extensions, and plugins

Develop new modules, sample code, SDKs, and production code for merchants and partners

Help define requirements for 3rd party developer APIs and tools

Analyze/debug merchant and partner integration issues

Assist in building and maintaining a test environment for engineering and our partners to test new feature compatibility

Skills Required but not limited to:
