Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join the software team of a leading Clinical Research organization.

The role involves application development and feature enhancement for enterprise products, ensuring high performance, scalability, and code quality.

Mandatory Skills :

Java 8+, Hibernate, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, JAX-RS (RestEasy), Jackson, REST APIs, JSP, React.js, GitHub, GitHub Actions, SonarQube, SonarLint, and basic AWS services (IAM, SNS, SQS, S3, CloudWatch).

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop and enhance enterprise applications using Java technologies.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate backend services.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
• Build and maintain UI components using JSP and React.js.
• Manage source code and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Ensure code quality and maintainability using SonarQube and SonarLint.
• Work with AWS services to support application deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Required Skills :

• Strong experience with Java 8 or above and Hibernate framework.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Database and PostgreSQL, including advanced query writing.
• Proficiency in JAX-RS (RestEasy) and Jackson for REST API and JSON processing.
• Experience in developing web applications using JSP.
• Knowledge of React.js for frontend development.
• Experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions for version control and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with SonarQube and SonarLint for code quality analysis.
• Basic hands-on experience with AWS services, including IAM, SNS, SQS, S3, and CloudWatch.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. 

• Develop, enhance, and maintain Java-based applications using Spring Boot and related frameworks.
• Design, implement, and optimize Microservices with RESTful APIs.
• Build and manage Spring Batch jobs, including scheduling, chunk processing, partitioning, and error handling.
• Apply object-oriented design (OOD) and GoF design patterns (Factory, Singleton, Strategy, Observer, etc.).
• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code following best coding standards.
• Integrate applications with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and messaging systems (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

What you'll work on

As a Software Engineer, you will be working on development project which will be based on API transitions, API Management ,API Monetization engine (based on Java, Springboot & AWS) and high traffic transactions.

Key responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer, you apply deep experience and technical know-how in the Software Engineering domain with-

• 7-10 years of experience

• Design, build and maintain multiple complex software application technologies and their interaction with Telstra processes and systems

• Develop innovative software that maintains data/network security management, and leverage set processes to reduce the time between commission and production

• Authentically engage with and influence a multi-stakeholder landscape to translate customer needs into leading-edge software application products, services or systems that meet Telstra’s time, cost and quality standards 

• Collaborate with team members and key stakeholders, seeking support, direction and buy-in to gather deep insights about the challenges and opportunities of our software application technologies and platforms

• Significantly contribute to continuous improvement initiatives of our systems and processes, to help define ‘best practice’ corporate testing standards and drive improved outcomes (e.g. productivity, customer experience and/or profitability)

• Lead initiatives or components of initiatives in line with the strategic direction of your team/mission, that have a significant degree of impact to the function or cross-functionally
