Java Tech Lead (5–6 Years Experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Tech Lead with 5–6 years of hands-on experience in backend engineering, architecture design, and leading development teams. 

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise in Java frameworks with a deep understanding of system design, scalability, and performance optimization.

This role involves technical leadership, code reviews, and architectural decision-making for complex enterprise systems — with occasional exposure to analytics-driven and Python-based components.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop scalable backend systems using Java (Quarkus, Spring Boot, Spring, Java EE).
• Own the architecture — ensure modular, extensible, and high-performance service design.
• Lead and mentor a team of developers; conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and ensure high code quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, DevOps, product, data) to deliver integrated, end-to-end solutions.
• Design and optimize database schemas (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and ensure efficient query performance.
• Implement and maintain microservices and distributed systems with strong fault tolerance and observability.
• Drive the adoption of modern development workflows — Git branching strategy, CI/CD, and code quality automation.
• Analyze system performance bottlenecks, implement monitoring, and ensure smooth production deployments.
• Contribute to architecture reviews, technical documentation, and design discussions.
• Occasionally contribute to Python-based analytics modules or automation scripts.
• Work with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) for deployment, scaling, and infrastructure automation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5–6 years of professional experience in backend application development using Java.
• Strong proficiency in Java frameworks: Quarkus, Spring Boot, Spring, Java EE.
• Proven experience in architecture design, system decomposition, and microservices design principles.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design (OOD), design patterns, and SOLID principles.
• Strong experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and query optimization.
• Good understanding of event-driven systems, RESTful APIs, and asynchronous processing.
• Proficiency in Git for version control and team collaboration.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills; ability to diagnose complex production issues.

Good to Have

• Hands-on experience with Python for data processing or analytics integrations.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud architecture and cost optimization practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes for containerized deployments.
• Exposure to NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra).
• Experience with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS).
• Understanding of system scalability, caching (Redis/Memcached), and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).

Strong written/verbal communication skills

·       Minimum 5+ Years of Core Java Programming with Collections Framework, Concurrent Programming, Multi-threading (Good knowledge in Executor service, Fork joins pool and other threading concepts)

·       Good knowledge of the JVM with an understanding of performance and memory optimization.

·       Extensive and expert programming experience in JAVA programming language (strong OO skills preferred).

·       Excellent knowledge on collections like, Array List, Vector, LinkedList, HashMap, Hash Table, HashSet is mandate.

·       Exercised exemplary development practices including design specification, coding standards, unit testing, and code-reviews.

·       Expert level understanding of Object-Oriented Concepts and Data Structures

·       Good experience in Database (Sybase, Oracle or SQL Server) like indexing (clustered, non-clustered), hashing, segmenting, data types like clob / blob, views (materialized), replication, constraints, functions, triggers, procedures etc.

This application provides users with a tailored, independent solution, including a required multi-dimensional validity date concept for administering all organizational and contractual sales force data to deliver structured information to many data consumers.

To reinforce our dynamic development team, we are seeking a skilled Backend or Full-stack Developer. In this role, you will collaborate with international cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain the application, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.

Write clean, efficient, and reusable code.

Implement new features and functionality based on business requirements.

Participate in system and application architecture discussions.

Create technical designs and specifications for new features or enhancements.

Write and execute unit tests to ensure code quality.

Debug and resolve technical issues and software defects.

Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices.

Identify and fix vulnerabilities to ensure application integrity.

Work with frontend developers to ensure seamless integration of user-facing elements.

Collaborate with DevOps teams for deployment and scaling.

Design and implement workflow automation using Camunda BPM, integrating it with backend services and ensuring efficient process execution.

Optimize and maintain business process models and workflow orchestration using Camunda.

Troubleshoot and enhance Camunda BPMN workflows, DMN decision tables, and process automation configurations.

Requirements

 Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Proven experience as a skilled Backend or Full-stack Developer. Experience in the insurance domain is appreciated.

Strong experience with Spring Boot 3, Java 17 or newer, and Maven.

Experience with PostgreSQL, Jenkins, Sonar, Dynatrace, Kubernetes, Mockito, IntelliJ IDEA, and GitHub repository.

Hands-on experience with Camunda BPM (v7 or v8), including BPMN workflows, DMN decision tables, and REST API integration.

Experience with Angular TS and/or AWS, Kafka is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively in a team environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional server development experience using Java or similar object-oriented language
• Strong understanding of web-based architecture - web servers, load balancing, caching, databases etc.
• Basic knowledge of SQL (Postgres, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
• Experience developing data driven web applications
• Up-to-date knowledge of latest trends in web application development, including Amazon AWS ecosystem
• Experience building and using RESTful APIs

Nice to Have

• Experience with multi-threading, replication etc. concepts in cloud applications
• Familiarity with large scale business intelligence applications
• Familiarity of JavaScript and other web technologies such as React
