Job Summary

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Junior Footwear Designer to join our Design Team. The candidate will assist in developing new footwear concepts and collections based on market trends, customer preferences, brand requirements, and commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and developing new footwear styles across different categories.
• Create footwear sketches, concepts, and design presentations.
• Develop mood boards, color boards, and design concepts based on seasonal trends.
• Research current footwear trends, materials, colors, silhouettes, and market developments.
• Work closely with the Senior Designer and Design Team to develop collections.
• Coordinate with the Product Development, Sourcing, and Production Teams for sample development.
• Assist in selecting suitable materials, colors, trims, soles, and other footwear components.
• Prepare detailed design specifications and communicate design requirements to vendors and manufacturers.
• Review samples and provide design feedback and modifications where required.
• Make necessary changes to designs based on sample evaluation and commercial requirements.
• Maintain design files, specifications, sample records, and collection details.
• Support the team in developing new designs within timelines and cost parameters.
• Keep track of competitor products and emerging footwear trends.
• Participate in design reviews and collection development meetings.

Required Skills

• Good understanding of footwear design and construction.
• Strong creative and visualization skills.
• Knowledge of footwear materials, components, and manufacturing processes.
• Good knowledge of colors, materials, textures, and fashion trends.
• Ability to create footwear sketches and design concepts.
• Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is preferred.
• Good attention to detail and ability to work with specifications.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work within deadlines and handle multiple designs/projects.
• Basic understanding of footwear sizing, fit, and proportions will be an advantage.

Qualification

• Bachelor's in Footwear Design, Fashion Design, Product Design, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in footwear design is preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be creative, trend-conscious, detail-oriented, and passionate about footwear design, with the ability to convert ideas into commercially viable footwear products.

Requisites 

• Experience with software development in one or more programming languages with data structures/algorithms. 
• 1-year experience in software architecture/design. 

• 2 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems and/or data management/storage technologies.  

Key Responsibilities: 

• Write and test production systems, with a broader understanding of the product. 
• Review code and provide feedback. Mentor engineers to take on bigger responsibilities. 
• Review and lead design discussions/reviews, with a long-term vision. 

• Set high-level engineering direction, and best practices and document educational content to save engineering hours. 
• Triage product or system issues. Mitigate and resolve production inefficiencies.  

• Test current products and identify deficiencies.
• Suggest solutions to identified product problems.
• Investigate product quality in order to make improvements to achieve better customer satisfaction.
• Plan, create, and manage the overall Quality Planning strategy.
• Collaborate with the Product Development team to ensure consistent project execution.
• Identify quality assurance process bottleneck and suggest actions for improvement.
• Oversee continuous improvement projects.
• Collect quality data.
• Identify key KPIs for product quality.
• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts.
• Prepare and present reports and metrics to Senior Management.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer.
• An experience with a variety of different testing techniques such as UI Testing, Automated testing, Test Driven Development Strategies, etc
• An experience in testing tools such as Selenium, JMeter
• An experience with coding using Python, Java, Node.js.
• An experience with software QA tools and processes.
• Knowledge of MySQL
