Principal Software Architect

Work Location: India-Remote

Position Responsibilities:

•           Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable SaaS solutions using modern technologies in collaboration with designers, product managers, and other teams.

•           Write high-quality, clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.

•           Contribute to architectural decisions and system design, aligning with the product roadmap and business objectives.

•           Lead and mentor a small team of developers, fostering their growth, ensuring high productivity, and maintaining code quality.

•           Champion best practices in software development, including Agile methodologies, TDD, CI/CD, and code reviews.

•           Collaborate effectively with distributed teams and stakeholders to deliver high-performance software on time and within budget.

•           Stay current with emerging front-end and back-end technologies, evaluating their potential application to our products.

•           Participate in technical debt reduction and system optimization initiatives.

•           Contribute to the development of internal tools and frameworks to improve team efficiency.

•           Assist in troubleshooting production issues and implement robust monitoring and logging practices.

Qualifications:

•           10+ years of experience as a full-stack developer, with a strong focus on backend development using Java.

•           Proven experience (3+ years) leading and mentoring development teams.

•           Proficient in building container-based microservices; knowledge of Helidon is a plus.

•           Skilled in front-end development with JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS3, HTML5

•           Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., OCI, AWS, Azure) and cloud-native development practices.

•           Expertise in designing and building RESTful APIs.

•           Strong experience with RDBMS such as Oracle or PostgreSQL and working with ORMs like Hibernate.

•           Deep understanding of and experience using industry best practices, including TDD, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies.

•           Experience with developing enterprise business software and understanding of business processes.

•           Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing secure coding practices.

•           Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

•           Experience with version control systems (preferably Git) and branching strategies.

•           Superb written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

•           Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.

• Understand platform requirements & coordinate with the development agency for smooth development of our platform
• Make incremental design or developmental changes on the platform on a regular basis
• Ideate & develop new features on our platform
• Conduct regular testing of website performance & fixing bugs (either through agency or by self, whatever applicable)
• Work with UI/UX designer to implement design systems & user experiences

• Proven experience of 2-3 years as a full-stack developer or similar roles
• Experience in developing scalable desktop and mobile applications
• Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)
• Knowledge of multiple back-end languages (e.g. C#, Java, Python) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js)
• Hands on experience with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache)

Java

Mandatory:

1. Strong expertize in Java/J2EE(4-7 years of experience)
2. Strong  expertize in Microservices, SpringBoot
3. Java including multithreading and concurrency

Preferred skills :

1. Experience in  Virtualization, SDN, NFV, Yang, Netconf
2. Good Knowledge on Networking
3. Multithreading and concurrency

• Work with business analysts to estimate and design effective, scalable and maintainable solutions that meet business initiatives and objectives
• Develop and unit test software that meets business requirements and technical design
• Troubleshoot pre- and post-production implementations
• Propose new ideas when there is strong business value and stay up to date on the latest technology trends and techniques

Critical Skills & Experiences:

• At least 5+ years of experience developing in Java technologies with equivalent experience in systems analysis, OO design, OO programming and debugging skills
• At least 5 years of experience in Java Spring Boot Framework development
• 2 years of experience in any Cloud platform, preferably AWS.
• At least 3 years of web services and relational database experience (preferably Mysql)
• At least a year of Elastic search experience
• Experience developing RESTful web services (preferably micro services)
• Experience with UNIX/Linux command line and shell scripting
• Experience working in cross-functional Agile/Scrum teams
• Any level of experience with JIRA or any other issue tracking technology
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders
• Experience with Java application profiling and profiling tools
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
