We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of the software powering Wendor’s smart vending machines. In this role, you will architect and develop robust full-stack applications, integrate low-level systems on Linux, and lead a team of engineers to build scalable, real-time software solutions.

Your work will directly impact how users interact with our machines across 70+ cities. This is a hands-on role where you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, solve complex technical challenges, and contribute to innovations that push the boundaries of smart retail automation.

Key Responsibility:

● Develop and maintain full-stack applications (using technologies Node.js, React) to support Wendor's smart vending ecosystem, ensuring seamless frontend and backend functionality.

● Work on low-level integrations with vending hardware, optimizing performance and stability on Linux-based systems.

● Build and manage scalable backend services and RESTful APIs to handle real-time data, payments, and machine operations.

● Lead and mentor a team of 3–4 software engineers, conducting code reviews, guiding technical decisions, and ensuring timely deliveries.

● Write efficient SQL queries and manage data flow between services and databases to ensure reliability and responsiveness of the platform. ● Ideate, prototype, and implement new features, tools, or automations to improve product performance and internal processes.

● Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, product, design, and operations to deliver integrated solutions.

● Ensure system reliability, performance, and uptime for software running on live vending machines across India.

● Maintain code quality through unit tests, integration tests, and E2E testing practices, following modern software engineering standards.

● Stay updated with emerging tech trends to help Wendor innovate faster and smarter.

• Web Development: Creating and implementing the technical aspects of websites and web applications

• This involves working with programming languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build the front-end (user interface) and back-end (server-side logic)

• Web Design: Collaborating with designers and using design tools to translate mockups and wireframes into functional web pages that align with the visual and user experience (UX) design

• Front-end Development: Focusing on the client-side of the application, ensuring responsive and interactive user interfaces, optimizing for various devices and screen sizes

• Back-end Development: Dealing with the server-side logic and databases to handle data storage, retrieval, and manipulation

• This may involve working with technologies like Node.js, Python, PHP, and more.

• Database Management: Creating and maintaining databases that store website/application data efficiently and securely

• Testing and Debugging: Identifying and fixing technical issues, ensuring the website or application functions smoothly across different browsers and devices

• Website Optimization: Improving website/application performance, load times, and overall user experience

• Version Control: Using version control systems (e g, Git) to manage code and collaborate with other developers

• Security: Implementing security measures to protect websites and applications from potential threats and vulnerabilities

• Collaboration: Working closely with designers, other developers, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and deadlines are followed

• Continuous Learning: Keeping up with the latest web technologies, trends, and best practices to improve skills and stay current in the rapidly evolving web development landscape

• Deployment and Maintenance: Deploying websites/applications to servers and performing regular updates and maintenance to keep them running smoothly

Desired Candidate Profile

• Engineering graduate (BE/B.Tech) or BCA/MCA from a reputed university.

• Ability to develop and manage e-commerce websites and web applications.

• Good understanding of fundamentals and concepts of PHP Scripting language.

• Good understanding of Smarty language.

• Hands-on experience in front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, jQuery and CSS3.

• Knowledge of OOPS & Database.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

• Alternate Saturday and all Sunday will be fixed off

• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) Concepts, MySQL, CSS3, JSON, XML & MVC.
• Knowledge of Networking and Versioning.
• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages.
• Strong programming skills with an understanding of project cycles, development environments, and source control techniques.

• Proficient experience using advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as AngularJS, ReactJS, Node JS, KnockoutJS, BackboneJS, etc.
• Development experience for both mobile and desktop.
• Understanding of server-side languages including such-as Jade, EJS, Jinja, etc.
• Experience with cloud message APIs and usage of push notifications
