We are looking for an Android Developer who possesses a passion for pushing mobile technologies to the limits. This Android app developer will work with our team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation of our mobile applications. Android programming works closely with other app development and technical teams.

• Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Work with outside data sources and APIs
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency

• Absolutely required to be proficient in English (both speaking and writing).
  BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
• Proven software development experience and Android skills development
• Proven working experience in Android app development and
• Have published at least one original Android app
• Experience with Android SDK
• Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.

Focus Areas
 Proven experience building Mobile Apps using React Native.
 Build pixel-perfect, buttery smooth UIs across both mobile platforms.
 Leverage native APIs for deep integrations with both platforms.
 Management of the application and its integration with back-end services.
 Astute sense of User Interface and User Experience design
 Managing large sets of data transfer between server and App.
 Offline usage with sync capabilities.
 Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks for performance that feels native.
 Reach out to the open source community to encourage and help implement mission-critical
software fixes
 Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality.
 Transition existing React web apps to React Native.
 Rock solid at working with third-party dependencies and debugging dependency conflicts.
 Firm grasp of the JavaScript language and its nuances, including ES6+ syntax
 Ability to write well-documented, clean Javascript code
 Familiarity with native build tools, like XCode, Gradle
 Understanding of REST APIs, the document request model, and offline storage
 Experience with automated testing suites like Jest
 Highly proficient in rendering components with Native APIs
 Working experience with APIs and third-party libraries
 Experience with FCM or similar.
 Highly proficient in one or more libraries (e.g. Redux, React Router, etc) for state managing and
routing in addition to React.
 Experience using Git as a control System

      Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications

      A knack for benchmarking and optimization

      Understanding of Googles Android design principles and interface guidelines

      Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.

      Have at least 1- 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the app team to develop apps using Flutter for both Android & iOS platforms.
• Implement best practices for app development, usage tracking, and issue fixes.
• Do regular code reviews to ensure code quality.
• Be an individual contributor to write quality code that is simple, reliable, and scalable.
• Implement test-driven development.
• Ensure the best performance and user experience of the application.
• Work with the team to manage, optimize, and customize multiple applications.
• Evaluate and implement out-of-the-box ideas for application development.

Required Skills

• Must have 8+ years of experience in native mobile development (Android / iOS).
• Must have 2+ years of experience in Flutter with Dart.
• Must have worked and successfully deployed apps on play-store/app-store using Flutter.
• Experience with any of the state management solutions like Bloc, Provider, Mobx, etc.
• Extreme attention to detail and the ability to match the design as closely as possible.

As one of our first mobile engineers in Bangalore, this is a great opportunity to make a significant impact in designing and building our new KeepTruckin Fleet Manager Android app and as well as grow by working directly with experienced technology professionals with backgrounds from Silicon Valley companies like Google, Twitter, Facebook and Uber (to name a few). We are looking for candidates who have a familiarity with Java and Kotlin, and a good understanding of system architectures (MVC, MVVM, Redux) and a forward thinking mindset aimed at high readability (declarative) code, as well as identifying problems or bottlenecks before they become issues.

Develop from scratch our new Android KeepTruckin Fleet Manager AppWork with product team to refine feature specs, and work with cross functional teams like IoT, Embedded, Data Science/ML, Computer Vision & Motion teams to create fluid user experiences with interactive visualization for a multitude of data from these different teamsCommunicate with backend engineers about API requirements or refinements, and engage with the senior engineers for mentorship to learn & grow in your areas of interestAnalyze our user's data to identify bugs, and help support team to diagnose user problemsBe able to work as part of a small, tightly knit team

What We're Looking For:
2-4 years of experience working on Android apps with a deep understanding of Android SDKsProficiency in Java, Kotlin, Android lifecycle, custom views, database/persistenceAn understanding of Android UI/UX and application design paradigms. Support the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release and support) on both Android and iOS
- Build a framework as the application grows so our Apps and SDKs are unanimous. 
- Produce fully functional mobile applications writing clean code 
- Gather specific requirements and suggest solutions 
- Troubleshoot and debug to optimise performance 
- Design interfaces to improve user experience

Requirements:

- Proven work experience as a Mobile developer with 3 - 5 years of experience. 
- Must be proficient in at least one programming language from Java, Swift & Objective C and must be willing to learn the other two. 
- Experience with third-party libraries and APIs 
- Familiarity with OOP design principles 
- Excellent analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude 
- Ability to perform in a fast paced team environment
- Strong understanding of in-device security
