Key Responsibilities

• Automation & Reliability: Automate infrastructure and operational processes to ensure high reliability, scalability, and security.
• Cloud Infrastructure Design: Gather GCP infrastructure requirements, evaluate solution options, and implement best-fit cloud architectures.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible.
• CI/CD Ownership: Build, manage, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, ensuring system reliability and performance.
• Container Orchestration: Manage Docker containers and self-managed Kubernetes clusters across multiple cloud environments.
• Monitoring & Observability: Implement and manage cloud-native monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.
• Proactive Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues across development, testing, and production environments.
• Scripting & Automation: Develop efficient automation scripts using Python and one or more of Node.js, Go, or Shell scripting.
• Security Best Practices: Maintain and enhance the security of cloud services, Kubernetes clusters, and deployment pipelines.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product, and security teams to design and deploy secure, scalable infrastructure.

Salesforce DevOps/Release Engineer

Required Experience:

• 5–6 years of hands-on experience in Salesforce DevOps, release engineering, or deployment management.
• Strong expertise in Salesforce deployment processes, including CI/CD pipelines.
• Significant hands-on experience with at least two of the following tools: Gearset, Copado,Flosum.
• Solid understanding of Salesforce architecture, metadata, and development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile methodologies

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce deployments using Gearset, Copado, or Flosum.
• Automate and optimize deployment processes to ensure efficient, reliable, and repeatable releases across Salesforce environments.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to gather requirements and ensurealignment of deployment strategies.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve deployment and release issues.
• Maintain documentation for deployment processes and provide training on best practices.
• Stay updated on the latest Salesforce DevOps tools, features, and best practices.

Technical Skills:

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Certifications:

Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Administrator, Platform Developer I/II) are a plus.

Experience with additional DevOps tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps) is beneficial.

Experience with Salesforce DX and deployment strategies for large-scale orgs. 

Main tasks

• Supervision of the CI/CD process for the automated builds and deployments of web services and web applications as well as desktop tool in the cloud and container environment
• Responsibility of the operations part of a DevOps organization especially for development at LS telcom in the environment of container technology and orchestration, e.g. with Kubernetes
• Installation, operation and monitoring of web applications in cloud data centers for the purpose of development of the test as well as for the operation of an own productive cloud as LS service
• Implementation of installations of the LS system solution especially in the container context
• Introduction, maintenance and improvement of installation solutions for LS development in the desktop and server environment as well as in the cloud and with on-premise Kubernetes
• Maintenance of the system installation documentation and implementation of trainings

Execution of internal software tests and support of involved teams and stakeholders

• Hands on Experience with Azure DevOps.

Qualification profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications engineering, electrical engineering, physics or comparable qualification
• Experience in software
• Installation and administration of Linux and Windows systems including network and firewalling aspects
• Experience with build and deployment automation with tools like Jenkins, Gradle, Argo or similar as well as system scripting (Bash, Power-Shell, etc.)
• Interest in operation and monitoring of applications in virtualized and containerized environments in cloud and on-premise
• Server environments, especially application, web-and database servers
• Knowledge in VMware/K3D/Rancer is an advantage
• Good spoken and written knowledge of English

• Maintain 24/7 availability for responsible systems and be open to on-call rotation.

Must have:  

• Minimum 3 Years of Experience in DevOps.  
• BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• Must have experience in CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, CircleCI, TravisCI
• Must have experience in Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon ECS or  Mesos
• Experience in code development in at least one high-level programming language fromthis list: python, ruby, golang, groovy
• Proficient in shell scripting, and most importantly, know when to stop scripting and start developing.
• Experience in creation of highly automated infrastructures with any Configuration Management tools like: Terraform, Cloudformation or Ansible.  
• In-depth knowledge of the Linux operating system and administration. 
• Production experience with a major cloud provider such Amazon AWS.
• Knowledge of web server technologies such as Nginx or Apache. 
• Knowledge of Redis, Memcache, or one of the many in-memory data stores.
• Experience with various load balancing technologies such as Amazon ALB/ELB, HA Proxy, F5. 
• Comfortable with large-scale, highly-available distributed systems.

Good to have:  

• Understanding of Web Standards (REST, SOAP APIs, OWASP, HTTP, TLS)
• Production experience with Hashicorp products such as Vault or Consul
• Expertise in designing, analyzing troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience in an PCI environment
• Experience with Big Data distributions from Cloudera, MapR, or Hortonworks
• Experience maintaining and scaling database applications
• Knowledge of fundamental systems engineering principles such as CAP Theorem, Concurrency Control, etc.
