Computer Vision Engineer

We’re hiring a remote, contract-based Backend & Infrastructure Engineer who can build and run production systems end-to-end.

You will build and scale high-throughput backend services in Golang and Python, operate ClickHouse-powered analytics at scale, manage Linux servers for maximum uptime, scalability, and reliability, and drive cost efficiency as a core engineering discipline across the entire stack.

What You Will Do:

Backend Development (Golang & Python)

• Design and maintain high-throughput RESTful/gRPC APIs — primarily Golang, Python for tooling and supporting services
• Architect for horizontal scalability, fault tolerance, and low-latency at scale
• Implement caching (Redis/Memcached), rate limiting, efficient serialization, and CI/CD pipelines

Scalable Architecture & System Design

• Design and evolve distributed, resilient backend architecture that scales without proportional cost increase
• Make deliberate trade-offs (CAP, cost vs. performance) and design multi-region HA with automated failover

ClickHouse & Analytical Data Infrastructure

• Deploy, tune, and operate ClickHouse clusters for real-time analytics and high-cardinality OLAP workloads
• Design optimal table engines, partition strategies, materialized views, and query patterns
• Manage cluster scaling, replication, schema migrations, and upstream/downstream integrations

Cost Efficiency & Cost Optimization

• Own cost optimization end-to-end: right-sizing, reserved/spot capacity, storage tiering, query optimization, compression, batching
• Build cost dashboards, budgets, and alerts; drive a culture of cost-aware engineering

Linux Server Management & Infrastructure

• Administer and harden Linux servers (Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS/RHEL) — patching, security, SSH, firewalls
• Manage VPS/bare-metal provisioning, capacity planning, and containerized workloads (Docker, Kubernetes/Nomad)
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Pulumi); optionally manage AWS/GCP as needed

Data, Storage & Scheduling

• Optimize SQL schemas and queries (PostgreSQL, MySQL); manage data archival, cold storage, and lifecycle policies
• Build and maintain cron jobs, scheduled tasks, and batch processing systems

Uptime, Reliability & Observability

• Own system uptime: zero-downtime deployments, health checks, self-healing infra, SLOs/SLIs
• Build observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, OpenTelemetry); structured logging, distributed tracing, alerting
• Drive incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortems

Required Qualifications:

Must-Have (Critical)

• Deep proficiency in Golang (primary) and Python
• Proven ability to design and build scalable, distributed architectures
• Production experience deploying and operating ClickHouse at scale
• Track record of driving measurable cost efficiency and cost optimization
• 5+ years in backend engineering and infrastructure roles

Also Required

• Strong Linux server administration (Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS/RHEL) — comfortable living in the terminal
• Proven uptime and reliability track record across production infrastructure
• Strong SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL); experience with high-throughput APIs (10K+ RPS)
• VPS/bare-metal provisioning, Docker, Kubernetes/Nomad, IaC (Terraform/Pulumi)
• Observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, OpenTelemetry)
• Cron jobs, batch processing, data archival, cold storage management
• Networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing, TLS)

Nice to Have

• AWS, GCP, or other major cloud provider experience
• Message queues / event streaming (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS/SNS)
• Data pipelines (Airflow, dbt); FinOps practices
• Open-source contributions; compliance background (SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js or Python, or Java.

2. Build and implement scalable and robust microservices and integrate API gateways.

3. Develop and optimize NoSQL database structures and queries (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB).

4. Implement real-time data pipelines using Kafka.

5. Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration of backend services.

6. Write clean, reusable, and efficient code following best practices, including design patterns.

7. Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing systems for improved performance.

Mandatory Skills:

1. Proficiency in at least one backend technology: Node.js or Python, or Java.

2. Strong experience in:

i. Microservices architecture,

ii. API gateways,

iii. NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB),

iv. Kafka

v. Data structures (e.g., arrays, linked lists, trees).

3. Frameworks:

i. If Java : Spring framework for backend development.

ii. If Python: FastAPI/Django frameworks for AI applications.

iii. If Node: Express.js for Node.js development.

Good to Have Skills:

1. Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.

2. Familiarity with in-memory databases like Redis or Memcached.

3. Frontend skills: Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or frameworks like React.js.

Job Description:  

As a L3 analyst, you will play a key role within the Application Management team, leading services for its customer(s). This service has responsibility for the smooth daily operational running of the Client platform both in the cloud and on-premises. The Client application is business critical and centrally manages data for trading, settlement, risk, client and regulatory reporting systems. As a L3 analyst, you will be responsible for supporting complex infrastructure and application issues raised by L1/L2 support teams, and business analysts. You would also be working on client requests for enhancements, fixes, maintaining custom code, and following the best practices such as Agile, DevOps, etc.

The role is a technical role requiring a good technical knowledge of SQL/PLSQ, Core Java along with good debugging skill while supporting client implementations. You should have basic understanding on Unix system and commands. The ability to troubleshoot issues, assist users and help write specifications is essential. This position also works with product management to improve the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating software and environments.

• Prepare product releases of software components. (Java/SQL-PLSQL)
• Contribute in all phases of the development cycle. (development/Deployment/Testing, peer review)
• Create technical document for all changes made.

Required Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Strong basics and working experience in following technologies: -
  • Core Java.
  • SQL / PLSQL coding.
  • Object Oriented Programming concepts and data structures.
• Working knowledge on Unix platform
• Working knowledge on XSLT and XML handling
• Basic understanding App & web server working knowledge (JBOSS, WebLogic and WebSphere) and debugging skills.
• Advantageous to have:
  • Working understanding on CICD, Dev-ops technologies.
  • Queuing technologies including Kafka, MQ, Solace.
  • Scripting including Python, Unix, java.

• Relevant Experience : Minimum 2 Years
• You have prior experience developing and working on consumer facing web/app products
• Hands-on experience on Python. Exceptions can be made if you’re really good on any other language with experience on building web/app based tech products
• Experience in at least one of the following frameworks - Django, Flask, Falcon, web2py, Twisted, Tornado
• Working knowledge of MySQL, MongoDB, Redis
• Good understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms and Operating Systems
• You've worked with core AWS services in the past and have experience with EC2, ELB, AutoScaling, CloudFront, S3
• You can dabble in Frontend codebases using HTML, CSS and Javascript
