Software Development Engineer

What you'll do

Be the dedicated engineer for one of our clients. Learn their business, find what to automate, and build it.

Build automations, integrations, and web apps on whatever the client runs business platforms like the Zoho suite, cloud services like Azure, and custom apps where needed.

Work with APIs every day: connect systems, move data, make tools talk to each other.

Own work end to end: hear the problem from the stakeholder, build the solution, ship it, demo it, support it.

Resolve client tickets and bugs fast. Keep their systems and data healthy.

Write things down: clear docs, clear updates, clear commit history.

What we're looking for

2–5 years shipping software that works and being able to read it, debug it, and stand behind it.

Strong with REST APIs and integrations between systems.

Happy working inside business platforms (Zoho, Salesforce, or similar). Much of the leverage in this role lives there, not in custom code.

You can sit in a call with a non-technical client, understand the real problem, and come back with a working solution.

Self-driven. You'll often be the only engineer on a problem.

Skills

·      Proven experience as a Technology Lead or Senior Developer with strong hands-on expertise in Java Spring Boot, Tomcat, MySQL, RESTful and SOAP APIs, ORM frameworks, Redis, JavaScript, and AngularJS/ReactJS.

·      Solid understanding of application architecture, security principles, design patterns, and industry best practices.

·      Demonstrated capability to lead and mentor development teams through the design, development, testing, and deployment of web applications using Java Spring Boot and related technologies.

·      Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a strong ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues to ensure application stability and performance.

Responsibilities

·      Design and implement high-level and low-level architectures for complex software systems.

·      Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and Business Analysts to understand business needs and translate them into effective technical solutions.

·      Enforce software development best practices, including code reviews, performance optimizations, and quality assurance standards.

·      Lead and manage a team of developers, providing technical guidance and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions.

The client is the home base for hardware engineers. They give the teams building robots, rockets, medical devices, and the next generation of physical products a single place to move fast without breaking things, turning CAD chaos into a system of record engineers actually love to work in. They are profitable, post-Series A, and growing the Hyderabad engineering team.

About the role

We're looking for a senior full-stack engineer to own significant pieces of our platform end-to-end, from React frontends to Node services on AWS. You'll ship production features, make sound technical decisions, and set a high bar for quality through your own work.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and ship full-stack features across our TypeScript/React frontend and Node.js backend on AWS
• Own systems end-to-end, from implementation through deployment, monitoring, and production hardening
• Write clean, well-tested code and contribute to a strong engineering culture through thorough code review
• Make pragmatic architecture and design decisions, weighing tradeoffs in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment
• Tackle hard problems across data processing, file workflows, and distributed systems at scale
• Collaborate closely with product and the rest of engineering to scope and deliver reliably

Mandatory (Experience 1): Must have 2+ years of hands-on experience in software development using MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js)

Mandatory (Experience 2): Must have 1+ years of frontend development experience with React.js, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+);

Mandatory (Experience 3): Must have experience with Next.js (SSR/SSG, API routes, Server Actions)

Mandatory (Experience 4): Hands-on experience in building RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.js

Mandatory (Experience 5): Experience writing unit test cases using Mocha, Chai, Jest (or similar), and working in Agile/Scrum environments

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional web development experience, with 3+ years focused on Shopify.
• Strong proficiency in Liquid templating language and Shopify’s theme architecture.
• Experience with Shopify APIs (REST & GraphQL) and building private or public apps.
• Strong frontend development skills: HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS), JavaScript (ES6+), and React or Vue.js.
• Deep understanding of Shopify's checkout process, cart mechanics, and store configuration.
• Experience working with Shopify Plus features like checkout.liquid, multi-store setup, and scripts.
• Solid understanding of web performance, accessibility, and SEO best practices.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development workflows.
• Ability to work independently and lead projects from concept to completion.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Headless Shopify implementations using Hydrogen or Next.js.
• Familiarity with Shopify Functions, custom checkout extensibility, and Shopify’s new App Bridge.
• Prior experience working with international stores, multiple currencies, and languages.
• Understanding of backend systems (Node.js, PHP, or Ruby) for custom app integrations.
• Contributions to the Shopify developer community or open-source projects.
