About the Role

The Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) is a core member of the development

team, participating across the full development lifecycle. This role translates business and functional

requirements into deliverables, designs and maintains test automation frameworks, and ensures

automated tests are integrated into the continuous delivery pipeline. The Sr. SDET develops high-

quality, maintainable, and performant test code, consults on test automation strategy, and serves as

a leader and coach across teams to influence quality practices and standards

What You’ll Do

 Design, develop, and maintain automation systems and tools to be used by development

and test engineers.

 Analyze code coverage using industry-standard tools (e.g., SonarQube).

 Oversee integration of automated tests into the Continuous Delivery pipeline.

 Design and author test cases for unit, functional, performance, scalability, and durability

testing.

 Manage and groom automated and manual test suites for balanced coverage and fast

feedback cycles.

 Work with IT partner teams to provide, create, or modify test data through repeatable,

automated processes.

 Provide internal training on testing skills and tools; contribute to the Test Community of

Practice to evolve testing practices and standards.

 Lead defect management and interface with external teams on test strategy and execution.

 Ensure requirements and/or user stories are testable and provide estimates for user stories

and tasks.

 Coordinate with Dev and Ops regarding testing practices to ensure quality thresholds are

met.

 Contribute to design and code reviews.

 Perform other duties and projects as assigned by business management.

What You’ll Bring (Must have skills)

 Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.

 4–7 years of experience using three or more development languages (e.g., C#, Java,

JavaScript).

 Any Monitoring or Observability Tools - Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Prometheus,

Grafana, SolarWinds.

 4–7 years of experience with three or more automation tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG,

Appium, Sauce Labs, Rest Assured, Postman, Cucumber, Jasmine, Protractor).

 4–7 years of experience with testing methodologies such as Test-Driven Development (TDD)

and Behavior Driven Development (BDD), API Testing, Acceptance Testing, end to end

testing.

 4–7 years of experience using issue-tracking software and Agile project management

systems (JIRA)

 Proficiency with SQL (querying, joins, stored procedures), Knowledge of NoSQL databases

(MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.) – Any database

Required Candidate profile

Call Reception and Ticket Logging: Responsible for:

• Ensuring calls are answered professionally
• Ensuring that the relevant information is collected from the customer
• Ensuring that the correct level of priority is agreed with the customer
• The company reference number is provided to customer and customer reference number, where applicable is supplied to the Company
• Ensuring that the ticket is assigned to the correct engineer
• Ensuring that the engineer is aware that there is a new ticket assigned to their queue

SLA Management: Responsible for:

• Ensuring that appropriate attention is paid to P1s
• TPMs engaged immediately for engineer dispatch to the site where applicable
• The customer is forwarded to an engineer for a possible remote fix
• Ensuring that all tickets are managed in line with SLAs

Jeopardy Management: Responsible for:

• Ensuring that the ticket is managed in line with Company’s jeopardy management process

Escalation Management: Responsible for:

• Ensuring that the ticket is escalated appropriately in line with Company’s escalation process
• Provide 1st line escalation to customers and channels (referring to Jeopardy and Escalation Manager)
• Provide 1st line escalation into TPM (referring to Jeopardy and Escalation Manager)
• Responsible for advising Service Centre Manager of any missing information in the knowledge database

Communication Responsible for:

• Customer Communication
• Ensuring that the customer is updated regularly throughout the duration of the ticket
• Ensuring the quality of ticket input is of a high standard
• Ensuring that key internal contacts are advised of any issues
• Responsible for reading, understanding, and complying with Company’s Information Security policies.

FORMAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING

• Educated to an A-level minimum, with higher education qualification (degree or equivalent preferred). Alternatively, relevant and proven Industry experience would be accepted
• Industry or relevant business qualifications and accreditations would be desirable
• Proficiency involved in working in the service industry, with particular emphasis placed on customer focus issues.
• Ability to form close working relationships with the customer community, sub-contractors
• Excellent client-facing communications skills
• A Self-motivated team player with excellent interpersonal skills
• An outgoing individual willing to participate as part of a small and flexible team
• in European languages would be an advantage
• ITIL Foundation / ITIL v3 Foundation
• Overall telecommunications knowledge with an appreciation of the Nortel / Avaya / Genesys / AWS Product Set

This position is for a tester with strong coding skills who likes challenges - someone who is constantly striving for excellence in software test automation.
Responsibilities include:

• Develop automated test cases on a day-to-day basis
• Gather and prioritize user requirements, feed these requirements into overall Automation Framework requirements and test plans
• Train team members on tool use and test automation tools, practices, techniques and best practices
• Communicate cross-functionally throughout the engineering organization
• Continuously monitor and boost test coverage across the product

Minimum Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or better in CS or related field, with 5+ years experience in software test.
• Exposure to best practices in SQA  including code reviews, debugging, troubleshooting and CI processes
• Experience in front-end (UI/Web) automation using Java ,Appium or any other app automation testing tool  or Experience in backend Testing using Java, API-Testing,Rest assured ,and Performance testing using Jmeter
• Excellent communications and technical presentation skills
• Initiative to research and build solutions to tough problems in domains like Flash, OpenGL, WebGL where off-the-shelf automation tools might not be available
• Some experience/comfort with working in a Linux/Unix environment
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting skills.

Preferred (Bonus) Qualifications:

• Knowledge of current build and test automation tools and processes, such as JUnit/TestNG, Maven, Jenkins, Mockito, JBehave, Git, etc
• Experience with whitebox testing, code reviews, SDK testing
• Experience with performance testing, stress testing, and advanced aspects of system testing automation.
• Knowledge of at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, Ruby or comparable).
