About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer (MERN Stack) to design, build, and scale backend systems that power modern web and mobile applications. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, a deep understanding of backend architecture, and the ability to translate product requirements into reliable, high-performance solutions.

This role requires high ownership, accountability, and technical leadership. You’ll work across Node.js based microservices, optimize MongoDB queries, design APIs, and drive integrations with internal and external systems — ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.

What will you do ?

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and APIs using Node.js and Express.
• Write clean, modular, and testable code following engineering best practices.
• Architect and optimize MongoDB data models for scalability and performance.
• Lead integrations with external APIs and internal services.
• Ensure backend reliability, scalability, observability, and security.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute to system design.

What you need ?

• 2+ years of backend development experience in Node.js, Express.js, and MongoDB.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, and microservice architecture.
• Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), asynchronous programming, and API design patterns.
• Hands-on experience with AWS ecosystem.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile workflows.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, system-level thinking, and attention to detail.
• Experience or hands-on working with React Native mobile applications is a strong plus.
• Prior experience in SaaS, high-scale, or data-driven platforms is an advantage.

Responsibilities:

1. Contribute to design discussions and decisions around building scalable and modular architecture
2. Build clean, modular and scalable backend services
3. Participate in sprint ceremonies and actively contribute to scaling the engineering organization from a process perspective
4. Stay on top of the software engineering ecosystem and propose new technologies/methodologies that can be adopted
5. Contribute to engineering hiring by conducting interviews
6. Champion infrastructure as code mindset and encourage automation
7. Manage and mentor a small team of junior engineers

Requirements:

1. At least 4 years experience as an SDE, building large scale services
2. Extensive experience in at least one programming language and ability to write maintainable, scalable and unit-testable code
3. Strong understanding of software design principles and patterns
4. Excellent command over data structures and algorithms
5. Passion for solving complex problems
6. Good understanding of various database technologies with strong opinions around their use cases
7. Experience with performance monitoring and scaling backend services
8. Experience with microservices and distributed systems in general
9. Experience with team management
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Good to have:

1. Experience working with node.js, MongoDB and Google Cloud
2. Experience in CI/CD and cloud infrastructure management
3. Worked on products that addressed an international audience

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Backend Engineer to join our team. The role involves developing and maintaining backend systems using Django and Python, while also managing on-premises hardware and deployments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our software is reliably configured, deployed, and maintained in an on-prem environment.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python (Django or Flask).

On-Prem Deployment: Install, configure, and manage software on on-premises hardware, including servers and networking equipment.

Database Management: Design database schemas, write efficient queries, and optimize data access layers (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).

API Integration: Implement and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services.

Troubleshooting & Debugging: Diagnose and resolve application and infrastructure issues to ensure high availability.

Version Control & CI/CD: Use Git for version control and contribute to continuous integration and delivery pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).

Security & Compliance: Work with the team to ensure software and infrastructure meet security and compliance requirements.

Documentation: Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for your code, configurations, and on-prem deployment processes.

Skills And Qualifications 

• 2-3 years of hands-on experience in back-end development with Node.js. ● Knowledge of Node.js frameworks 
• Good understanding of server-side templating languages 
• Understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git ● Have worked in any of the cloud based platform AWS, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes.
