Role Overview: This is a senior-level, individual contributor role focused on hands-on technical leadership in backend architecture. The role is centered around three core areas:

● Drive complex backend architecture initiatives that span across multiple engineering and technology domains.

● Lead strategic R&D efforts to evaluate new backend technologies, frameworks, and methodologies, and champion their adoption company-wide. ● Spearhead our Multi-Cloud & Hybrid-Cloud backend strategies, ensuring scalable, secure, and resilient architecture patterns.

What our ideal candidate may look like:

● 14+ years of software development experience, with at least 4 years as an Architect or Staff Engineer role, particularly in backend systems.

● A backend technology expert with in-depth, hands-on experience in building and scaling enterprise SaaS with distributed architecture, In depth knowledge of Rest and Event driven architecture with low latency and high-throughput in memory systems.

● Designing stateful backend to handle large data including message broker, distributed queue, caching. Good understanding of High Availability and Disaster recovery for the critical production system.

● In depth understanding of Async, Multi Threading and Multi Processing Architecture to ensure our system efficiently use the programming principle for higher concurrency support

● Proficiency in following programming languages (Python, Rust), with a strong foundation in software engineering principles. Knowledge of Rust is a strong plus, especially in the context of high-performance, memory safety and ownership.

● Deep understanding of system design, database architecture (SQL & NoSQL), microservices, observability, resilience engineering, and secure coding practices.

● Exposure to big data platforms, stream processing, machine learning infrastructure, and multi-cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) is preferred.

● Excellent communicator and collaborator, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders.

● Proven experience mentoring engineers and guiding architectural decisions at scale.

We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer with strong experience in building, scaling, and optimizing server-side systems. The ideal candidate is proficient in Node.js, FastAPI (Python), and database design, with hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js and FastAPI

Build robust data models and optimize performance for SQL and NoSQL databases

Architect and deploy backend services on GCP/AWS, leveraging managed cloud services. 

Implement clean, modular, and testable code with proper CI/CD and observability (logs, metrics, alerts)

Ensure system reliability, security, and high availability for production environments

Requirements:

2–5 years of backend development experience

Strong proficiency in Node.js, FastAPI, REST APIs, and microservice architecture

Solid understanding of PostgreSQL/MySQL, MongoDB/Redis or similar NoSQL systems

Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP, Docker, and modern DevOps workflows

Experience with caching, queueing, authentication, and API performance optimization

Good to Have:

Experience with event-driven architecture, WebSockets, or serverless functions

Familiarity with Kubernetes or Terraform

Responsibilities :

• Partner with Business Stakeholders to translate business objectives into clearly defined analytical Projects
• Own the end-end process, from recognizing the problem to implementing the solution
• Understand customer’s requirements and design the optimum solution using Icertis’ AI applications
• Configure, Extend, and optimize Icertis AI app through Python scripts, NLP NER Analysis and other mechanisms

• Collaborate with other engineering teams to develop and deliver new features and enhance existing ones.
• Rapid prototyping (POCs) based on requirements.
• Test, debug and fix any functional or non-functional issues.
• Work with the architects to ensure feasibility of the design while ensuring all quality attributes are met.
• Participate in deployment and release activities.

• 5+years of relevant experience.
• Experience in leading a team.
• Expertise in Python, Django DRF, REST APIs
• Experience with Document DB, RDBMS and ORM.
• Demonstrated ability to write clean and testable code.
• Knowledge of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, ElasticSearch is preferred.
• Exposure to AWS will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (ReactJS, Javascript etc) will be a plus.

The Risk team is responsible for overall risk framework and strategy for the organization. The team develops various risk models, arrives at various sector reports from a risk perspective and provides in depth analysis and recommendation around risk profiles of various clients.

In this role, the person is responsible for playing a leadership role in the Risk function to identify, assess, monitor and make timely and measured judgments on all current and potential future risks faced, in order to protect the organization’s interest, assets and reputation of the group along with growing shareholder value and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Manage risk for the retail and wholesale portfolio. Should have managed organization level Risk Policies, Credit Underwriting and Collection functions.
• Manage risk framework for the organization - including updating, establishing new risk management mechanisms, to identify, assess, monitor, measure and control a broad spectrum of risks. Ensure all policies and frameworks are kept updated and deployed to the optimum level.
• Develop continuous monitoring and improvement of the quality of the organization's credit and lending portfolio through credit policy direction and implementation.
• Possess a complete understanding the business. Evaluate, improve, and monitor the business, including assisting in reporting to the Board and Board Committees and providing leadership in the effectiveness of credit risk management controls, systems, and processes across the organization.
• Lead and mentor a team of analysts.

• Possess 7+ years of relevant experience in financial services industry in a risk role.
• Exposure to both wholesale and retail risk in a banking environment will be preferred. Some experience in a business / sales role within the banking / NBFC space will be an added advantage.
• Should have held a position of authority in terms of allocation and appropriating limits.
• Sector understanding in financial institution space and good knowledge of interpreting financial trends.
• High proficiency in Python and SQL/NoSQL.
• Experience with big data and cloud computing e.g., PySpark, data lake is a plus.
• Outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to speak at various levels of an organization (CXOs to analysts).
• Have demonstrated resilience – stayed with companies and taking businesses to scale, have preferably not ‘hopped jobs. Strong organizational skills and excellent follow-through.

Technical specifications/Skill Set:

• Minimum of 5+ years of significant experience in application development.
• Proficient with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile, Test- driven development
• Knowledge of system architecture, object-oriented design, and design patterns.
• Required technical skills: Strong Core Java, J2EE, Spring boot, Akka, API development & distributed application development experience.
• Desirable technical skills: Micro-services pattern, Kafka, Knative Eventing, Camel-K, Container Technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, NoSql preferably Cassandra.
• Experience working with high volume data and computationally intensive system.
• Domain knowledge in Financial Industry and Capital Markets is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills are essential, with strong verbal and writing proficiencies.
