We are currently scaling up the engineering team to support the continued growth of the user acquisition in the global market, after a steady success in the Indian market.

The Role:

Runo is looking for a Lead Backend Developer to join our team. The lead backend developer is responsible for scaling up the existing architecture to handle billions of requests every month (We are currently at a scale of 100 million requests per month). You will be contributing in architecting the database/reporting layer to support complex queries and data exports of millions of records. You will be a lead developer responsible for development of new software products and enhancements to existing products.

Our Ideal candidate:

• Proficiency in NodeJS.
• Expert knowledge of NoSQL Databases (MongoDB is preferred)
• Hands on experience of working on products handling more than a million requests per month
• 4-8 years of relevant professional work experience 
• Self-motivated, able to work independently. Commitment to high quality.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the product architecture in handling millions of requests per day.
• Optimizing the architecture for regional data zones.
• Develop high performance, reusable & bug free APIs
• Optimize the existing APIs for performance (by data denormalization/ decoupling the long running APIs using queues)
• Get familiar with the AWS Services like API Gateway, Lambdas, SNS, SQS, SES

Have an experience building backend server side applications in Node.js and Express.js

Have in-depth knowledge and experience of using ES6+ features and Object Oriented Principles

Have sound knowledge and are familiar with databases like MongoDb - (Preferred) and Mysql.

Have good exposure to cloud native technologies (AWS Lambda, S3, RDS, etc) 

Have working knowledge of version control (Git) and continuous deployment 

Have experience in optimising backend API’s and database queries for optimal performance.

You are good at problem solving and have analytical skills 

You are flexible in adapting new technologies and frameworks as per the projects needs

• Strong knowledge of PHP web frameworks (Core PHP, CodeIgniter, Laravel).
• Should be strong in jQuery.
• Good knowledge of relational databases, version control tools and of developing web services Hands on Experience in Design, Development, Module Handling.
• Candidate should have strong knowledge of Api creation as well as third party Api integration

The successful candidate will join a team that develops and integrates enterprise e-commence and e-transaction systems for a diverse client base.

• The successful applicant will be responsible for the technical delivery of all development assignments allocated to him in a timely fashion, while meeting rigorous quality targets.
• Unit testing of code - Working with very large and complex SQL databases
• Troubleshooting through resolution of technical issues and system errors
• Performing testing, documentation, and mentoring/grooming/coaching less technical staff where applicable
• Work with Architects, Project Managers, and other Developers to estimate the level of effort necessary to implement assigned work packages.
• Write efficient, clean, tested code that follows high standards and quality requirements

Specific Skillset Required

Minimum 2-3 Years of strong hands-on experience on:

• PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, CSS, HTML 5, Ajax, JSON
• PHP framework preferably Laravel

Strong Fundamental knowledge required

• Web development experience in Core PHP, Mysql, MVC architecture.
• Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures
• Implementation of Service Integration of an on Demand Web Application
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as (Git / SVN / Bitbucket)
• Experience in developing cross-browser-compatible web applications in HTML, CSS
• Experience developing and deploying solutions/applications across various environments (on-premises and cloud (AWS, Azure, Alibaba, GCP etc.)

• Excellent problem-solving & analytical skills & OO principles
• Solid understanding of the data structure & algorithms.
• Very good experience with PHP programming language
• Hands on experience working on Laravel. Experience with any other framework would be nice to have
• Troubleshooting skills to reproduce & resolve issues in production systems
• Experience working with git & also following following git workflow
• Experience with deployment on server would be nice to have
• Working experience with AWS services like s3, lama, cognito, would be added advantage

Build reusable APIs for our client-facing apps in Node.js

Create and maintain scalable infrastructure leveraging modern cloud platforms Write tests and documentation as you implement features with your team Maintain expertise in current and emerging technologies and tools

4+ years’ Experience with NodeJS

BS degree or higher in Computer Science or Engineering Experience documenting and testing RESTful APIs

Experience working with databases in PostgreSQL, MongoDB or Redis

Experience and enthusiasm for working collaboratively with others in an Agile environment
